What's the best speaker cable for a 20ft run?
I second the 8tc vote....Had em for years, tried others (very expensive others) and the 8tc has always represented an excellent value and sound. Accurate, balanced, decent soundstage. I am sure there are better, but not for the money there isn't. ...
Krell FPB Amps-biwiring
I guess, if your wire is not overpriced like alot of the cables you can buy out there, making use of this feature seems ok. Especially for someone who has never had the feature before. I have experimented with alot of cables over the years, some v...
Any thoughts on Krell
Solution: if you like the Krell sound and don't like the frequent generations, then buy used. Case closed.
type of house wire
I am in the process of pulling wire now for a 20amp dedicated. I would say 10/3 is a little bit overkill and you might be spending too much $$ on it for long runs especially-although long runs is where 10 guage starts to gain advantage over lesser...
Best amps for rock and heavy metal
Rotel????? I owned it for years, and sold it all with glee...It is absolutely not even in the same LEAGUE as what we are discussing here, not even close. Redwood- I agree with on the ML sound, it is simply magical, but it was a little dark for me ...

So the remaining question here is...Is the extra investment in the extra set of speaker cable worth the gain in sound? I have been bi-wiring for years, just not truly bi-wiring on both ends. I feel b&w sounds better with bi-wire configuration,...

Best amps for rock and heavy metal
"I find that the powerhouse transistor amps can't make the bass impact right. You really need tubes for that!"Not to get philosophical here, but this very much depends on your interpretation of what bass is. And that too, depends on a great many t...
Why do no audio enthusiasts use McIntosh?
Happy consumers can be a simple general way to also refer to a happy audio enthusiast. To me they are very different, so I am not sure what point of the question is.. But to get more granular, an audio enthusiast is different because it is usually...
Why do no audio enthusiasts use McIntosh?
Jamnesta, awesome point, and it would be incredibly useful here if we could organize a Sound debate. Bossjay, did you just say Bose sounds good? I need you to explain to me why then the $300 set of computer speakers I bought two months ago are now...
Why do no audio enthusiasts use McIntosh?
Alaric, I like your description "blue eye"..Funny stuff. It's true though, opinions are all unique, or you know what they say, they are like a-holes, we all have em and they stink!Anyway, not meaning to brand bash, just state my experience, if it ...

Why do no audio enthusiasts use McIntosh?
Hey guys, listen...Lets not get huffy, my opinions (albeit over the internet and not communicated completely) are not intended to try and upset anyone...They were formed through listening, and therefore I consider them fact-based opnions, first-ha...
Why do no audio enthusiasts use McIntosh?
Trying to make a McIntosh analogous to a Mercedes is actually an excellent way to describe what I think of McIntosh, if you need to know. It's an over-priced status symbol, ruined by a conglomerate. I have now heard the McIntosh in three separate ...
Krell FPB Amps-biwiring
Hi guys, thanks! I have 804's, and B&W is notorious for sounding better when bi-wired. I have always bi-wired them, but with the FPB amps it looks different. So now, with the 400cx, I use two separate speaker wires correct? I have Kimber 8tc, ...
