New2Analog - Table Setup Help?
Mayby my expectations were wrong, but I bought this table, simply to see if I would enjoy the sounds of vinyl over my traditional cd system. For less than $200, I had a simple turntable solution to try things out. I was not going to spend $500-150...
New2Analog - Table Setup Help?
We will see, as I am taking this inexpensive entry table to a very seasoned analog guy, and putting it in his system, for proper setup, and comparison to CD and his table. If you are correct, and I need to spend $1000+ to get a good initial setup,...
Wall Hugging w/Imaging & Depth?
WOW, now that is a great answer. I have a very good Vandy dealer near by, and I have liked Vandys in the past. I will go talk to my dealer, and maybe get a pair to audition.
Wall Hugging w/Imaging & Depth?
Not really.... But thanks for the thought! I think I am going to have to get used to moving my speakers around (Against the wall for HT, out from the wall for Stereo), so I can really hear what they can do.
New2Analog - Table Setup Help?
CD - Does not sound as open and airy as I would like, which is why I am putting my toe into the Vinyl world. However, at the moment, CD sounds better than the Vinyl for all the reasons listed in my original post.Cleaning a Stylus with SANDPAPER. N...
New2Analog - Table Setup Help?
I bought the table used, and the previous owner had barely used it, but I was under the impression that he had tuned/set-up the table. I have done nothing to change this setup, as I thought I would get suggestions here. As mentioned earlier, I am ...
Parasound vs B&K vs Acurus
I have directly compared Parasound (HCA2205at - which I still have), and the B&K Reference 200 and MCA (I think) versions. I am driving NHT 2.9's which are very current hungry, and the Parasound was a better match. Better bass extension and co...
Wall Hugging w/Imaging & Depth?
Great stuff guys, and Thanks for sharing. I purpose built a room for HT many years ago, using many design principals we know as good including:Perfect symmetry across the front*L & R Speakers are equal distance from the side walls*Almost Equil...
Anyone Remember the B&W DM3000s?
I too have a lost love tale for the DM-3000's. They were my first high end speaker. I bought a couple different "Box Store" speakers while a teenager and college student. My first room mate after college had a great system from a high end dealer, ...
Bi-Amp Basics - NHT 29s
That makes sense to me now. Luckily, the Parasound does have gain control, so I can calibrate it to match what ever amp I put to the top.
Bi-Amp Basics - NHT 29s
Im a bit confused. If I did not want to use an active crossover, how would I bi-amp the 2.9's?I am thinking of using Tubes for the Top end, and my Parasound for the bottom end.
