@vdotman , HA! Probably not the best choice in words by me above. I should've said non-clinical. Some people love clinical and I find that fatiguing.

@shtinkydog , I'm not 100% sure of anything and no it doesn't matter to me.  I should've stated they are designed in France by a French company per their website. Forensically, I have no clue.

@judsauce , thank you for your encouragement and positivity.  Over the years, I've noticed you posts and you're always a neutral advocate for enjoyment!   @roxyone , HA!!!!! @bigkidz , You were 100% correct.  And, moving on from large 100dB hor...
Luxman 505z
OP, I hope you get what you want here.  I’m in month two of owning my very first Lux—the 590axii.  I love it so much and respect the engineering so much that if I move in a different direction I’m gonna keep it as an heirloom.  The Japanese at thi...
Why isn’t more detail always better?
@snookhaus , that DAC was on my shortlist but I never tried it! Sounds great by your description.  I went LTA Aero.
Why isn’t more detail always better?
Detail is important to me but I don’t chase it or look to keep getting more of it per se.    I really prioritize the ability to scale.  I often describe this as the difference between a hyper resolving thumbnail view of the music that borders on ...
Enough is Enough
Whoops! I missed that OP tried the M Scaler. I need more coffee this am.
Enough is Enough
OP, what is it about the Chord Dave you don’t like? Do you use the ancillary M Scaler? The Dave is highly resolving and does so much right. I’m not saying you should like it. Just curious about what’s not working for you.    it sounds like you mi...
Chet Baker vs. Miles Davis
If you like Chet’s playing, try Kenny Dorham’s “Quiet Kenny”.  It’s superb late night jazz listening.    If you like mellowness in the genre, try Curtis Fuller’s early work, like “Bluesette”.
Upgrade from Revival Atalante 5s
@avanti1960 this makes me feel like my ears are not terrible! I agree with this sentiment

@inagroove, It's unclear what you are saying here.  What is the "add"? The company has a website in English and US distributors.
The end of physical media is neigh
Could the world's first trillionaire (or lower) just buy up all the rights to music and hold them, preventing streaming from continuing as it is? Doubt it would happen, but it might be theoretically possible.  A total absence of physical media is...

Yes, I have them about 18” from the front wall. This is closer back than when I put more power in them. Some amps really push bass from these guys. So when I tried Class A offerings I was able to move them closer to the wall.  I use no port bung p...
Have you heard LTA Aero, Lab12 Reference, Denafrips Pontus 15th?
LTA Aero in house here. Sounding fantastic. Very nice build. Easy to use. Solid.  Soundwise, I really dig it. Very clear, crisp, but has some nice glow and bloom.  Still breaking it in. I will not be return this guy!
