Speaker advice?
For a room that size I would consider The Grant Fidelity LS3/5A. I just happened to see they have them on sale right now for only $381.00 (40% off). For amps I would add the Exposure 2010s2 series, Naim nait 5i, Bryston B60R (used) and perhaps a n...
Klipsch Cornwall III with Bryston 4B SST2 / BP17 ?
Thanks all for the responses. I purchased the Bryston to go with some other speakers (still waiting for the bryston to be built) but I have a pair of Cornwalls boxed up in the basement that I had used with 300B and KT88 amps. I am sure that curios...
inexpensive warm sounding speaker cable
Van Damme Total Definition Directional HIFI or Vann Damme Blue Series. These are cheap compared to typical HiFi brands and sound outstanding. After using them in your system you may like myself think that spending more on speaker wire is silly. Va...
Squeezebox touch-itunes or not?
I have been running the SB touch through a digital coax (rca)to the Cambridge Audio 840C DAC. I played with the upsampling setting recently and I am getting a fairly good sound that is closer to the CD players sound. I am thinking that the intial ...
Squeezebox touch-itunes or not?
Thanks Spinaker01. I set up Foobar2000 yesterday and ripped about 20 cd's. Getting the FLAC to pull into foobar was a bit of a challenge for me but it is working with FLAC now. It does sound better and I am liking the squeezebox now.
Cable Recommendations for Entry Level
Mogami or Van Damme(HIFI series LC-OFC) for interconnects. Van Damme 6MM LC-OFC speaker cables. Cheap enouph for entry level but good enough for any performance level in my opinion and experience.
Klipsch RF-7 II VS Paradigm Studio 60 V.5
I would consider the size and accoustics of your room when deciding between these two. Other than that I personally would go with the Klipsch. I love their efficiency and how well they sound with tube amps. They are known for their home theater im...
SS integrated amp that has tube like qualities
not sure if you are looking for new stuff or used but I owned a Classe CAP150 that seemed like what you are describing, on the warm side but still detailed. I kind of regret selling it. There are a few iterations of it, CAP100, CAP151 etc. I have ...
Budget MC Cartridge and Synergy
I never really understood compliance, high? low? effective mass? I have always put a cartridge on that seems to be well thought of and seen how it goes. So my understanding Virdian, is that you are saying the Denon 103 carts are physically too lit...
How to eliminate TT feedback/vibration
If possible, have the wall shelf attached to an outside wall or strucural inside wall as mentioned(behind the speaker plane). Try to set up the shelf so that it is not rigidly coupled to the wall, don't over tighten the screws and perhaps put rubb...

Hi BSB,The 6SN7 is at the front of circuit(input side) and the 6SL7 is after (output side). Thanks
Cable Costs Relative to System
Hi Kijanki,My point was that the cables used in a studio should be the most neutral to the playback of the music that was being produced and that using something other than that used in the recording studio in your home equipment can add colourati...
Cable Costs Relative to System
I have gone throught trying alot of cabling in my systems throught the years. All the models from Cardas, Kimber, Acoustic zen, Harmonic Tech, Analysis Plus. For me I have found that cabling sourced from recording industry is very good indeed. Mog...
Technics SL-1200 Mk II; opinions??
Great table. I would buy it if it is not abused/over used. I think the Applied Fidelity bearing upgrade and KAB fluid dampers are worthwhile upgrades.I have owned lots of Regas, Systemdek, Musichall, Linn LP12, Thorens 160HD Etc and surprisingly I...
