The Biggest Album Release of All Time... Yeah, U2 may not appeal to the 70's prog-rock nerds, Prince types, country fans, or to those who cannot leave their Led Zep, Doors, Eagles, etc. Jazz, blues, and classical fans are excused. If you like most everything, but not U2, well--you tried....
Your favourite recording label? For jazz fusion, check out the GRP label, started in the '80's by Dave Grusin and Larry Rosen. It features releases such as "Harlequin" by Dave Grusin and Lee Rittenour. Larry Carleton, Dave Valentin are included in the catalog. Even going back to...
Is computer audio a bust? Haven't tried it, spend a lot of time doing other tasks on computers at work and at home. So, I put in a CD, sit down, listen, look around--and grab the laptop this is what it has come to.
Do you suffer from ceruminosis? French Fries, you had to go to the ER--was this after you stood under a shower to ram water into your ear? If you weren't trying to be funny, well--I laughed anyway. Thanks for thatÂ….please, just try the drops. You can even warm the bottle slightly.

Van Alstine? Had I first noticed its age, I would not have commented on this thread, revived by one AVA fan, Audioman58. I wholly endorse your choice of AVA and am sure you will enjoy your AVA amps. Mine still work well for me after fourteen years.
Do you demag or destat your CDs/DVDS? My thanks to Jea48 for supplying ample information on the Furutech RD. I notice there are no US or Canadian distributors of the Acoustic Revive RD 3, only overseas sales on Ebay that are not endorsed by Acoustic Revive. I could buy one from the de...
Van Alstine? AVA amps have been OK, have owned Omega SS amp and EC pre, then Fet Valve Hybrid 350 and Fet Valve EC pre-amp, both circa 2000, still use these in home theater system. In his owner's literature, VA always insisted his team could hear no difference...
Most overrated audio manufacturers? The big cable manufacturers, mostly due to to price/performance disappointments. You can roll your own these days for a lot less.
REL Magic I have placed the SR20's into my RELs. They are the same amperage rating as the stock fuses. I am doing some listening comparisons of music well-known to me, and so far, there may be a bit more depth--not sure yet--hard to quantify at this point. ...
REL Magic Sabai, it's nice to hear that you found the same improvements through your REL, and I have Nmmusicman to thank for the fuse idea. I have the SR 20's on order. I have had very good results with Furutech fuses in Maggies.
REL Magic Thanks for the reminder on the fuses, NMman--I will replace the stock fuses.
You know you like it Lots of good memories with the Ozarks---still like 'em.
How Does Gold Wire Handle? Al, thanks for your concise explanation of what may be occurring through pin #1. This is very enlightening to me and, I presume, to others. There is so much opinion batted around on DIY cable threads that only seems to confuse rather than clarify....
How Does Gold Wire Handle? In the interest of the thread, I should have stated my project goal--to exceed the performance of my Transparent Reference 1.5 meter XLR interconnects, purchased, about eight years ago for 4K. I have actually been fairly happy with these cables, b... |
