Clearaudio innovation wood or SME 20/3 I did not like the Linn as much as the Audio Note TT that replaced it and I did not like the AN TT as much as the Clearaudio Ovation that I presently have. You should not overlook the Clearaudio arms. I don't have experience with Lyra so I can't a...
Amplifier for Totem Forest I've run Forrests (and Model Ones) on 35 - 60 tube watts and the sound was glorious. I've also run them on a 120 watt Plinius integrated amp and the sound was very good as well. You have to decide what sound you prefer. I'll take them with tubes a...
Phono recommendations for Koetsu I heard the AN set-up at Deja Vu in Virginia. It was the TT3. The power supplies are awesome. I dare anyone to stop the platter from rotating once you flip the on switch!!
Phono recommendations for Koetsu Larry, thanks for the vote of confidence on the AN "lower line" transformers. I'm not really prepared to spend more than $1k or so just getting into SUT's. I recently listened to the S8 paired with the M8, AN MC cartridge, and "big" AN table. Not ...
Anyone familiar with the Ultron ECC88 tube? I've got some 60's Bugle Boys and the Ultrons are not nearly as "sweet". Amperex is normally my tube of choice in the ECC83's. I just installed them a week or so ago, so I'm still getting a feel for the tube and I'm sure they need to break-in more...
Phono recommendations for Koetsu Knowing the "real" price of anything audio would I'm sure make me feel a little ill. But isn't that true of most items, audio or otherwise. Everybody's gotta make a living.
Phono recommendations for Koetsu Thanks everyone for your input. I'm looking into Bob's and Choir. I'm happy with the 834P particularly since I recently found some tubes that really make it sing (Mechans didn't mean to discount your input on the other thread). Knowing the price o...
Anyone familiar with the Ultron ECC88 tube? Maybe you should listen first and comment second. Isn't that the type of response the OP was soliciting when he asked "or more importantly heard this tube?" Then you wouldn't have to worry about whether he know tubes (at all), which he does.
The New Clearaudio Ovation Had the table checked today. Everything was set-up correctly. Picked-up some new tubes for my EAR 834 phono while I was there. Ultron 12AX7's (see another thread ongoing). Brightness GONE!!
Is the Classe Cap-101 enough for Totem Arros? They both go well but the 9100 is the better amp, IMO.
Anyone familiar with the Ultron ECC88 tube? Don't know anything about the tube other than my dealer just recommended them for my phono. He said they were somewhere between telefunkens and mullards. Best tube I've tried to date in my EAR 834 and I've tried many different combos. Warm with sp...
Is the Classe Cap-101 enough for Totem Arros? Then go for the Plinius 9100. Sexy and mates very well with Totem
Is the Classe Cap-101 enough for Totem Arros? A 3rd for tubes. PERFECT for your music tastes and low-level apartment listening.
The New Clearaudio Ovation Thanks Nietz..., Using MM cartridge with no loading options in my phono. I originally had the TT on a maple platform with isolation under the wood and no little discs under the spikes. I found the "brightness" present in that set-up as well.I'm go...
The New Clearaudio Ovation I heard the same thing about the Black and thought that if I were to try a Koetsu it would be a good "reason" to move up to the Rosewood. Problem is it's hard enough to audition amps, speakers, etc. sometimes. Auditioning cartridges are next to im... |
