1st full tube amp Oldchen EL34 I own a OldChen 845-A 300B I bought in Amazon for $1600 and it is fantastic, quiet and no issues so far. I also own a Reisong A12 (a version of the A10), and the same. And also my favorite, the Reisong (Bouyarange or whatever) A50, a 300b tube amp...
What amplifiers/integrateds do you like with Cornwall IVs? Tubes best, if you can make them work without hum or noise. In Solid, Luxman. Pass Labs or First Watt are fantastic, but you need to live in the North Pole: they still will heat up the whole house, though.
Amplifier for Cornwall IV I mean AC noise.
Amplifier for Cornwall IV I got the Cornwalls too. You can probably use a million amps with them, both solid and tube. My favs Luxman and Accuphase. But tubes, if you don't have too much noise in your current, are supposed to be best.
Hum on Tube Amp - Can't find source Does it happen only with those amps or just with ANY tube amp? Because if this is the case you may need a new house.
Integrated suggestions Go for $6000 and get yourself an Accuphase 280

Any direct comparisons between Decware SE34I.5 and SE84UFO2? I also ordered a switch box from Steve with two outputs and an A/B switch and I go from one to the other. I thought at first about selling the UFO2, but it is "only" $1300, almost not worth to sell it. But now (my room is small) kind of I even lik...
Any direct comparisons between Decware SE34I.5 and SE84UFO2? I was ready to buy in pairs, so recently I got a TORII V and an UFO2. I’d say the difference in the case of these 2 is the power, 20 W vs 2 (I think). But the sounds are very close, and excellent in both cases. The UFO2 will work perfectly in a sm...
Decware Line Conditioner - Worth the wait? I ordered mine last December. I’m pretty close, maybe a couple of weeks more. I ordered it after spending a week with one I borrowed from a friend. It really stops noise and harmonics from the grid. Maybe it is the toroidal transformer, maybe the ...
Coincident Statement Phono Pre amp opinions Excellent phono, dead quiet, accurate and delicate. It reminds me the Lamm, but with much better highs (less sibilance). The extra input is very useful, but if you use low power amps (e.g. SET) you may find that you need more gain.
Any expereince with Coincident Frankenstein II Amp I have owned the Franks Mk II for a couple of years now, and I also matched them for a while with the Hovland (a great preamp) until I finally got few months ago the CSL preamp, which is first class. For me the Franks are the best SET amps I know....

Has anyone listened to the coincident linestage? I understand very well, Charles. I have the intuition that the massive power supply plays a major role here. To make a PS like that is expensive, and I guess that is why we don´t see it very often. A curious thing about this unit is the tube confi... |
