Perlisten D212 Subs (2) in the house.
Just unpacked my D12’s and love the look, but very different then my JL E112’s, sound and setting wise. I haven’t had time to listen and tweek, but my Focal Sopra 3’s and CR-1 cross over truly go down to 31Hz, and I kinda was a little underwhelmed...
What is meant exactly by the description 'more musical'?
Great dynamic range, lively and detailed, without any harshness or sibilance. Shooting from the hip here...
Higher-End Class A/B vs. Class A Integrateds
@nicktheknife Well, as far as class A amps having a certain sound IDK. As far as class A/B amps having a certain sound IDK? But my own personal exposure leads me to think "different amps sound different" regardless of their class. This sadly wo...
Equalizer in a Hi Fi system
I’m a fan of the Loki Max, use it with my SU-R1000 (on bottom black). I run it XLR and don’t here any negative in my chain. Also has a remote and saved presents so you can adjust from your listening chair.
Resolving CD Transports Crowd Sourcing
@wharfy I feel it better renders high frequency detail and transients. More immediate start and stop while still preserving space in the sound stage. I don't feel it's subtle either. Still good alone, but I wanted the clock from the get go.
Luxman M-10X Stereo vs. Mono or C900U
Been running DAC as preamp and loving it so far, but not planning on continuing this as is. Can’t say enough great things about the M-10x, I’m just floored at what I’m hearing. Nuanced detail that till now has gone unheard, not just palpable bass,...
(Hegel vs Luxman) vs PS Audio
Made the jump... and have a second coming! This amplifier is definitely a revelatory addition, one of those pieces where "you hear things you didn't know were there before" kind of additions. Decided to go with a mono set up as opposed to getting ...

JAY CDTMK3 and TEAC VRDS 701 https://imgur.com/a/on2stS3 Again been playing duplicate CD's and just sinking and volume matching them both switching between the Teac and Jay. They’re both excellent, but I’m gonna keep the Teac.

https://imgur.com/a/on2stS3 Just a follow up. So I have in house the Jay Audio CDT MK3 and their new Clock 2. Head to head against the Teac VRDS and clock (as transports). I’ve listened to the Jay in 24bit/176kHz upsampling and native 16bit/44.1...
Benchmark or McIntosh....
Wow! That's a lot of subs. My only benchmark experiences are with my headphone amp, but I would agree with the general feeling that Benchmark is more about detail and accuracy, while McIntosh is more about midrange and lower treble roll off and l...
(Hegel vs Luxman) vs PS Audio
Interesting conversation... Room vs gear, I guess the room always wins. But if no music plays in a treated room, does one enjoy the sound? I kid. I'm presently a JC1+ owner, but am in love with my Riviera Labs Levante integrated and have nothing...
Luxman M 10x
@rman9 I'm a JC1+ owner and have read a few direct comparisons. Anyone able to weigh in on similarities and differences? I am tempted to get the M10x with hopes of a second in mono.
New Preamp from Musetec
Love my Musetec 005 DAC, excited to hear more about it. Sad they don't have it in black.
Sugden, Accuphase or Luxman Class A Integrated?
I can't comment on Sugden other then my LA-4 Pre, but Canor Virtus i2 is a fantastic amplifier. 40 watts class A and just beautiful sounding for that kind of music.
Sugden Amps
Love my Sugden LA-4 pre, with those Klipsch I’d totally think a Sugdan amp would be for you, I absolutely love the Canor Virtus i2, but being tubes... ugh that’s a phenomenal amplifier now with pre outs. Lastly what about a Cambridge Edge A. I hav...
