Odyssey audio Tempest vs Candela ?
Hi,sorry I didn't, respond sooner, been away from agon. Anyway I do have a candela stratos combo. I had replaced my CJ PV12 with the Candela. the CJ was an excellent mate but wanted something a bit less lush (for jazz it,s great). I primarily list...

Hi Atmasphere, thank you for your response. I appreciate it very much. And a consideration that I had not considered. I have used my GMA Europas(4 ohm/88db/7-120W @ 8 ohm amp)for years with both an Odyssey Stratos amp at 150W @ 8 ohm and a Denon P...
Ultrasonic Oscillation
Hi, thought I'd follow up on this thread. I took suggestions to have my equipment bench tested, both sets of speakers as well as pre and power amp checked out OK. Set everything up, and now five months later HF still dead. Again and again yet I sw...

Denon Pre Amp no sound
Stanwal, good call. Yes, there is an internal fuse that looks fine. I also discovered that a thin cable from the inside of the volume knob was broken, looks like it just wore out from years of use. Hopefully a simple soder project with a piece of ...

Ultrasonic Oscillation
Do you think that the addition of a sub (REL Strata III) correctly connected to the amps speaker posts could create this instability in the amp? Again, thanks.
Denon Pre Amp no sound
Stanwal, will do. Thanks!
Ultrasonic Oscillation
Thank you both for your comments and explanation. If I understand you right, this is something that occurs internal to the device rather than user or environmental. When this occurs, say within an amp, does the damaging effects move in direction o...
Denon Pre Amp no sound
Thanks guys for your responses. I did work out arrangements with the seller in which I got most of my $$ back and kept the pre. The seller was very good to work with and I was appeciative of that. Stan, unfortunately it does not have external fuse...
Snell Type D Positioning Question
Thanks Pete, for the follow up. I was thinking about the layout of my room and your comments. It sounds like the D,s can be set closer to the wall than my Europas which are approx 3.5' from rear wall and 4' frm sides. This provides a near 9' appro...

Down firing sub tweeks
Similar to Roofmeister, I built my equipment table and amp platform gluing three sheets of 3/4" MDF and trimmed with stained poplar. I'm very satified. Have some pieces remaining and I'll also report back how it works under my REL. The spikes are ...

Camb, yes I'm experiencing the same thing and I don't care for it. I think the unit is fairly new so I'll run it another 100 hours and then determine whether it's a good fit with my equipment. Take care, Dave
