platinum audio solo's
I have the Solos in my setup for a little more than 3 years now and having great success partnering it with the Ayre V3 amp (100 watts SS) and an AS Passion passive pre. My room size is 15.6 x 10.5 x 8 and no problems with the "loudness" factor ie...
PS Audio 500 questions
This seems to be a common problem with some of the earlier P500s. I had a demo unit once from a dealer and it had the same problem. More than likely the fan is not working or the card that controls the fan is faulty. Contact PS Audio. They should ...
Want to buy for a power conditioner?
In my system the PS Audio PP works (regen output) very well for the front end gear but less difference/improvement for my amp (Ayre V3). I do have a PS Audio Ultimate Outlet feeding the Ayre and it makes a very noticeable improvement. In addition,...
best power conditioner for less than 500 buckagroo
You might want to consider one of the better offerings of power cords available as "Power Conditioners", if you have not got one already. I have great success with a PS Audio Xstream Statement, less than US$500 and even less used. It has definitel...
Very best in world music - recommendations?
Try Dadawa and to borrow a quote from one music reviewer"Voices From The Sky is a gorgeous (though somehow too short) collection of Tibetan music by a young Chinese singer. In the note for the first song, there is a reference to the Tibetan deity ...

If you are into Bluegrass then Alison Krauss new DVD is well recorded visually and audio wise (DTS) plus the musicianship is first rate IMO. No center channel though but with a good playback system you won't notice the difference. Another well rec...

Cable Suggestions
A properly shielded cable will likely help, as suggested by other inmates. Sounds like EMI/RFI emissioms from equipment/surrounding. The PBJs does not seem to be properly shielded.Good luck.
what are you listening to lately?
Stacey Kent - "Let Yourself Go: Celebrating Fred Astaire" & "Dreamsville"Rosanne Cash - "10 Song Demo"
Connecting CD directly to Poweramp
I have been using the Audio Synthesis Passion Pre (Passive) for a number of years with great success in my system. When you properly match the Passion with the rest of your system taking care of it's compatibity factor with your interconnects (pre...

CD Player modifications- Improved Sound?
Had my RCD 1070 mod recently with Superclock II and diodes replaced with High Speed Soft Recovery Diodes. I have not look back since. It literally transformed the player to the next level and more, sounding coherent, sweet/musical. Black Gate caps...
Transport Recommendations Please.
Have you considered mods to your present Rega ie: Superclock II , black gate caps & better quality diodes??? It will certainly improve your digital signal to your dac ie: less jitter or timing errors giving you a more coherent and sweet/musica...
Is there a future for Redbook players?
Certainly, and "all in one" Redbook CDPs are gaining more popularity I guess since jitter could be more an issue once you do separates. I have just purchase a Rotel RCD 1070 (my old cdp just died) and had it mod with the Superclock II (yes, you mi...
