What should be my next upgrade? Speakers?
Thank you.OK looks like your system is set up on the longer wall, which can likely help your cause somewhat, acoustically.I pesonally like your Klipsch's in your system/setup, as they do so many things well for what you have going. They are focuse...
What should be my next upgrade? Speakers?
First, there's not enough information on your scenario to recommend changes. Simply recommending changes to ANY SYSTEM, without knowing all the variables that are involved, is like driving blind-folded! More info needed on your setup and life-styl...
Blu-Ray HD Audio Coding, worth $1000 Upgrade?
"Iplaynaked, you make a good point. That is the exact reason I post here! I want more than one opinion. I like to collect a good amount of information from a variety of sources then make an "informed" decision."Actually, I'm stretching it a bit, s...
Surround speakers slightly in front OK?
Um, If I'm wrong, those speakers would work/aim much better set over your door way (I may be reaching here -life-style considerations, tastes, acceptable compromises, etc) in the "horizontal" position. Set vertically, you'll run into a bit of comb...
Surround speakers slightly in front OK?
what processor do you use? What exact speakers are you using? My initial thoughts tell me you have space over your door entry way, no?
Surround speakers slightly in front OK?
btw, where in the room is your seating position located?
Surround speakers slightly in front OK?
Balance is always a key issue, with any properly setup system. In the case of the location of the speakers, in relation to imaging and steering of the soundfield, you might find it a little less than enveloping, ideally. However, it would not soun...
Why not use mains as centers
"OK, tried the "phantom" center yesterday, and I hate to say this, but it didn't sound good at all. Very hollow sounding, I tried some other setting changes, but just turning the center on again was a huge improvement."OK, for the record, to all t...
Best Big Sub? or duals?
Value goes to the HSU. I would do 2 15's in that room, upfront near mains, possibly in center on front wall behind/near the center, run in mono (.1 channel). Better would be two Paradigm Servo 15's (musically even more accurate). Other dual sub op...
Blu-Ray HD Audio Coding, worth $1000 Upgrade?
When you think about it, there's so much "gray area" for the average audio enthusiast to consider, regarding everything from they type of equipment he should consider, to the best connections, best decoding options, best scaling options, best sett...
anyone compare HD DD w/ DVD to 1.3a receiver in?
"Maybe the reviewers notes you posted were talking to the masses and not the higher end AV buyers?" (Blindjim)Um no. This doesn't make any sense. No reviewer with half a brain would be giving out suggestions that would compromise their reputation ...
who makes a decent center channel speaker?
Ok, phasecorrect, so I'm curious. Have you narrowed down your selection any? What speaker are you leaning towards buying now? Did any of this help you decide? Personally, I would opt for the Dunlavy SCVI for the money you'll save over the Dynaudio...
who makes a decent center channel speaker?
Another center worth mentioning is the Dunlavy SCVI...stacked vertically for best dispersion, of course.
Why no audio when "Pure Direct" mode is set to ON
Also, check to see whether your settings for decoding is set to "Auto", "Analog", or "Digital". If it's in Digital, it may not register "direct", as it's the same as "Stereo" - meaning there's no direct. That may or may not be it. Also, check thin...
