Speaker Choice under $750 for blues... My Klipsch KLF-20 is pretty good on rocks and jazz. You can get a pair of used one at $750 with shipping.

Most agreed upon best speaker? Those who cared for reading this "best speaker" thread, do you care more for the sound or music? I suspect that the former is the majority.Whenever I feel an urge to upgrade my audio systems, my wife jokes me that I care more for the sound than th...
Tube pre amp with phono stage and remote Rogue Magnum 99 (retail at $3000 with phono) would be also a choice. I've had it for a half year and I really like it, even though I have not compared it to other products at similar price range.
Converting LP to digital. Advice please... I use an old way.I use a CD Recorder (Marantz DR-700) connected to a preamp (Rogue Magnum 99). It records up to 80 minutes of audio into CD audio format. Then I store them on my computer in mp3 format. You can use either CD-R or CD-RW.No extra sof...
Tube phono preamp help please. My Yaqin MS-12B outperforms Bellari. With tubes changed to Telefunken 12AX7 and RCA 12AU7, it sounds even better. With new tubes, it would be around $400. Yes, it is silver.
Phono pre amp It has a high gain that can be directly connected to a power amp.I have used it both directly with Linn power amp and via Rogue Magnum preamp. I also felt something was missing with direct hookup even though it was subtle.
first time vinyl Used or new?For new, rega P3 may fit your budget. For used, P5/P7 may fall into the price range. As somebody said, Thorens 14x/16x would be a good choice to start with at under $400. I am still yet to notice a significant difference between my TD145...
Shure V15 Type III vs Grado Gold Shure with VN35MR sounds better than Grado on my Thorens TD145MKii. I could notice it right after I replaced the Grado with Shure. However, I have not seen much posts on direct comparison of those two cartridges, so I wondered.I have AT125LC, and i...
STEAM CLEANING LP's Be careful about applying too much steam too long if it is for heavy duty use. It may cook the LP. I ruined about 5 of my LPs with my garment steamer. 4 of them old/junky but 1 in close to new condition. Ouch!Try first with a junk LP.
How Many Turntables Have You Owned Currently I have Clearaudio Bluemotion, Thorens TD145MKii, Dual 1219, Dual 1019, and Dual CS530, the last two not in perfect working order. ;)It is amazing that the Thorens and Dual 1219 works still fine due to their age.
Are Dust Covers a MUST Vtvu, do you have a website or link to your products?I know Ginko makes dust covers, costing $250+. There is one audiogon seller selling it at $175+.
Are Dust Covers a MUST Which dustcover would be better if it has to be used? One sits on the plinth or one sits on the rack that the turntable sits on? If the latter is better, why there is not many companies that make it?
Why are classical solo cello LPs so expensive? Well, not only for Starker's and DuPre's, but many cello LPs from Casals, Fournier, Rostropovich, Myski, Yoyoma, Bylsma, ..., they all seem to be much more expensive than for other instruments, including violin.I just wonder why. Collectors in Asi... |
