Micro Seiki DD30 Turntable Thank you both for your comments. Indeed, it turned out to be the cuing device that was set too high, and restricted the movement of the tonearm as it got to the end.Thank you all for your help!
Empire 698 turntable Well, I was able to remove the proverbial circlip with c-clip pliers, I was so proud of myself! But now, the darn spring won't come out! I thought once the circlip was removed it would come out readily, but that is not the case. Any other thoughts...
Empire 698 turntable Yes! You are totally correct! The recessed part is what makes it difficult. But now that I know I am in the right track I will be determined! Thank you for your help.
Empire 698 turntable I am aware of the adjustment with the wing nuts. However, one of the springs does not seem to be "springing back", as I said previously. I removed the wing nut, and underneath it looks like the spring is held in place by a C-clamp, but I cannot se...

Noise when playing vinyl Thank you all for your prompt replies! Here's what I've got so far:Zd542, the turntable does not have a built in preamp. When I connected it to a line level input, there was minimal sound with the volume turned up. Mattmiller, I don't know the mod...
Loud hum in one channel Thanks, guys. You know, I was never enamored with that phono preamp that was installed, and I wonder why it took the Empire TT to bring out all the bad in it, when the Funk was playing not too badly. At any rate, I will shop for an external phono ...
Loud hum in one channel Here's a follow-up: Disconnected TT and ground wire, and noise like jet engines coming out of both speakers, more so on the left, but only on the TT setting, not the CD. Re-connected the Empire, and very noisy on the left channel, not so much on t...
Loud hum in one channel Puerto, yes the hum is present when the preamp is set to TT but not on CD or AUX. I will disconnect the ground wire as soon as I get home and report back. Thanks for your help! |
