How to get into high end digital? (Feeding a DAC)
many answers lie here...It’s one, of many great places to learn digital. This man performed fantastic DAC1 mods before coming out with his own line of digital playback. http://empiricalaudio.com/ Ahhhh… That synchromesh looks like what I thought ha...

… Have you ever seen a passage of music analyzed on an oscilloscope for input and output integrity? Nope, you haven’t. And square waves at fixed frequencies make for easy measurements but they don’t emulate music. I will skip right over the fact t...
How to get into high end digital? (Feeding a DAC)
@pindac How does it work?I would expect that the digital bit stream would have to be altered?orThat there is some ground loop or some other thing happening that is not part of bit stream, but affecting the analogue portion of the DAC?

You can use your Nakamichi's coax digital output into the DAC via a Monoprice digital cable. There is only a red and a white RCA, and either it or the RCAs have tinny sound out of the RHS channel.Hence no coax digital out (it is a last millennium ...
High end high quality int. amp for low level listening
That TABLE 1 in section B right on page 1 says that the the high efficiency are the lest linear. Are harmonics at play that make them sound better when playing low?
Klipsch Forte ii too bright, or is it my room ?
Maybe leave out foam from Beth woofers?Do you have an REW sweep of the room?
Upgrade my CD player or futile effort?
@holmz,what I do in the car is either stream from my server using Plex, or I use the Qobuz app on my iPhone.  No need for CD's!Yeah, but that assume one is not in the middle of nowhere, with no phone towers within hours.I mean, I understand when y...

Maybe you’re right. But there would have to be a reason why the sounded better. It could also be the Fletcher Munson is getting somewhat adjusted with speaker that has more low and high end than the other set?It would be interesting to see REW curv...
2.1 to 5.2 (Vandersteen 2C)
A good L/C/R is nothing like a sound bar to me.  They are separated for a reason.  There are so many compromises in even the most expensive bars, that you just can't get great sound out of them in a comparison.  JMHO, but I'm sure you all understa...
Are all amps being built wrong?
@atmasphere Running zero feedback is a nice way to insure stability. What is the output impedance of your amp?I was talking to a fellow yesterday that said that the feedback of the Prima Luna was too high.Do you have thoughts on that?
Crossover issue.
@erik_squires I did not mean a microphone, I mean to just test the XOs with just a signal and probably some power resistors where the speakers go.Your idea of the DATS does the speakers, so it is conceptually the same type of thing, just I am aimi...
Crossover issue.
Yeah @erik_squires and a less elegant (kindergarten approach) is just to swap left parts between and right…If one had a scope they could drive both LHS and RHS XOs and plot them against each other. But you’ve also reminding me that I need to find m...

But the physical speaker itself is also imprinting on the effect of the room. You being in the room is another factor. This is what I mean by (sonic) 'fingerprint'.  I am picturing “a disturbance in the force”.
Hana ML and Korf head shell
Ok @chakster so I think you ‘re saying they the p77i will found just as good as the Hana ML?And cheaper to run over time?

having subs in the mix will lessen the load on the amp and allow lesser sensitivityHow big of a concern is the load on the amp, when the SPL is in the 60s of decibels?
