Bass traps? (to solve a suck out)
if you have a wide null centered at 61 Hz, your best bet is to try and cross a sub over a bit higher than 61 Hz and boost that null. just be careful not to create other issues with the added low freq energy released into the room. if you use a RTA...
Bass traps? (to solve a suck out)
i agree, i have some of his products now and i have spoken to him on a couple of different occasions. he is a nice guy and filled with loads of helpful information.
Bass traps? (to solve a suck out)
Bass traps can help change the way audio waves flow through the room, thus help treat both peaks and nulls, but in my case, after i treated my room with bass traps, the nulls were not measurably better. while this is just my experience, i would im...
Bass traps? (to solve a suck out)
bass traps cannot fix a suck out, but you should still treat your room to achieve other benefits.you can equalize a bit by overlapping your main speakers with a subwoofer, then adjust the phase control and sub level until you reach a desired resul...
YG Acoustics add in Stereophile
The NRC of Canada said that the YG Acoustic speaker that they measured was the flattest speaker they have ever tested.I have heard them at CES as well as one time in a room that I am quite familiar with, each time they were very impressive.

In room response
not sure how to post my in-room response, but it is pretty snazzy, especially since i am incorporating Anthem's new room control.
In room response
I think this a great idea for a thread, it is amazing to me that more people do not realize the effect a room has on the overall sound of a system. If you have a well engineered speaker and a treated room, exceptional sound can be achieved.
Why use CD Transport instead of computer source
The test was done in a dedicated listening room that has been well treated for room acoustics. The system is a system we are both very familiar with, the listen levels where matched, and we choose the same listening material, started at the exact ...
Why use CD Transport instead of computer source
A friend and I compared/blind tested a 12k CD player vs. a Mac/USB DAC combination and in most cases, we were unable to determine which was which. This was a blind test which was conducted within a cost no object system.Like someone said above, th...

perhaps a used pair of Rockport Mira's would fit the bill. as of this post, no one has mentioned them. while Rockport Technologies isnt a big company, it certainly is one of the best. no matter what speaker you are replacing, at any price, a Mira ...
