Trouble in Fleetwood Mac.......
It's telling that they'll be replacing him with two guitarists.
How can I tell if I need a better clock for my DAC?
Thanks for asking this question. I was just about to post something similar. If one has a decent CD player -- say, for example, a Rega Apollo CDP -- is jitter an issue, or is it safe to assume that the   manufacturer has dealt with this in making ...
Please suggest bookshelf with best bass response under $4000 pr.
I'd check out the Dynaudio Confidence C1. I heard a pair once, and was absolutely astonished that so much deep, controlled bass could come from such a (relatively) small stand-mount.
Greatest Rock Drummers
I knew someone many, many years ago -- I'm talking way back in the 1970s -- who said Carl Palmer's drumming reminded her of a too-heavy meal. I laughed then, and I laugh now to remember that very wise comment. For my money, I'd pick Stuart Copeland...
Experience with Bluesound Node 2 use with external DAC
I've read, in these fora and elsewhere, that the Mytek Brooklyn DAC, which decodes MQA, works great with the Bluesound Node 2. I've been tempted by this combo, and nearly made the leap a couple of times, but I'm still stuck -- for some reason. If ...
I want to stream Tidal to Mytek Brooklyn DAC ...
Thanks, Meinhard -- this is exactly what I'd been hoping to hear. Thanks to the previous posters, too.-- Howard
8K for a one-time listen?
Hey, they are offering free UPS shipping!
MQA according to new Stereophile "loudness button" and "tweaking EQ in presence region"
Before others get all sorts of breathless -- like the OP -- I'd suggest that folk read the whole of the piece by Mr. Reichart. It was, by any reasonable measure, exceedingly positive. It contained no "bombshell." Read. Listen. Think. It's not alway...
Interesting article
Thanks for posting this link. Fascinating read.
Can I use this amp in my house?
Thanks very much for this detailed explanation. If I end up getting the amp -- a Cambridge Audio 851W -- I'll print it out and give it to our electrician.-- Howard
Do you admit that you ever enjoyed listening to:
I first heard Dan Fogelberg in the mid-1970s, back when I was in high school, and most recently listened to him last week. I thought he was great back then, and still feel that way now. Saw him live once in the good ol' days, and he was really goo...

Apple Abandons Development of Wireless Routers
Apple has gone to hell since Steve Jobs died. It now goes forever between refreshing Macs. The watch is a joke. It says the iPod is a replacement for the PC, but then says it isn't. I could go on, but you get my drift.
Rolling Stones Blue and Lonesome
I've listened to it but once (yesterday afternoon), and quite liked it from start to finish. I'll be playing it again today -- and likely many more times after that -- but my first impression was really positive. One thing that stood out: the boys...
Albums you can listen too all the way through and it's all good
