Help me understand "the swarm" in the broader audiophile world
@noble100  Always a +1! +1 also to millercarbon for his advocacy in addressing the simple, inexpensive (and at times free) tweaks that most of us tend to ignore.   I would just add for those out there attempting the sub elevation route to do the ...

@tyray  Then reading more in agon Duke did suggest to the things he told you to do with your subs, then I can't remember if it was Duke on some other reading but 'if you can raise one up towards the ceiling'. What!Yes, that was Duke who suggested ...

@mapman That’s a nice collection of speakers you are rotating. What determines which ones get played?I have ls50s. Interested in your impressions versus others.Thanks. Other than having fun swapping around gear, nothing really determines which get ...

@northmanOthers have indicated valid possible answers to your question regarding DBAs being (or rather not being) offered at dealers. So I will just share with you my experience with the Swarm. My first listening room had a low ceiling and was 10 x ...

Speaker advice for first hi-fi setup - Monitor Audio Gold vs. KEF R series!
@parabola82 - Agree 100% with pjr801 on the LS50s.I have a pair that, after some placement adjustments, sound great in terms of warmth and a bit of weight. On another note, I also have Harbeth SHL5+40th Anniversaries that do what the LS50s do but b...
Swarming!
Well it certainly improved my sub million dollar LRS, LS50s, Ologe5s, B&W Matrix 801S2s and now my new Harbeth SHL5+40ths.A Harbeth 40.2 review in The Absolute Sound pointed out that while this speaker does not need subwoofers, it will greatly...
Michael Yee Audio
Yeah, I might just sell both. Was thinking about setting up a second system with the amp.But am just realizing the necessary room treatments and furniture rearranging for the other room.Guess I will just stay with my current system for a while.
Michael Yee Audio
@dill - So is the PA-1 class A/B?I do like the sound of the amp.  It seems better at driving Maggies than the Forte 1A.Jury is still out on which I prefer but still very curious about this amp.
Harbeth Super HL5 plus Break-in
@routeman21 - I now have about 150 hours on my SHL5+40s.Bass seems fuller. Imaging got a bit crisper.  Soundstage seemed to reach a bit further behind the speaker plane.I have my Maggies (well broken in) set up in the same room and swap with the H...
Swarming!
@dnicolCongrats on the Swarm!Yes, the DBA does integrate very smoothly.  By far the best subwoofer solution I have experienced.I will try my best at this using quotes from Duke LeJeune (Swarm DBA inventor):1) Sealed mode is generally better for sm...
Harbeth 30.1 or 40.1
@gte357sI ran a 4 sub array with my SHL5+40ths in a small room (10x12 minus closets). The sub array really helped. Now I am in a bigger listening room (14 x 17) and the SHL5+40ths really opened up at louder volumes. The sub array really helped in th...
