Slipping Belt on Thorens TD-150
@slaw  on the contrary actually... there are certain requirements that I am trying to work around, hence why some actions are not feasible. That said, regarding my other post, I will be stiffening the floor.Regarding this post, I have two belts, d...
Slipping Belt on Thorens TD-150
@zavato i have an older and a newer belt. The newer one is an original Thorens belt. This one doesnt slip as much when starting (it is smaller) but it did drop to the lower part of the pulley causing the speed to bump to 45.My table is modded to r...
Vibration Issues / Turntable Decisions
@toddverrone - thanks ;-)
Vibration Issues / Turntable Decisions
The slippage problem seems to be normal upon start-up of the TD150. I have decided to keep the table as it is an impressive setup. There are some good and relatively cheap options to brace the room.
Vibration Issues / Turntable Decisions
Yep, 100% right on. Going to take some time this weekend and investigate some options under the crawl. I only have 2' of working space between the bottom of the floor joists and the earth below.Stay tuned!
Vibration Issues / Turntable Decisions
@audiopoint the rack is open to store my vinyl records in it, no bracing. :-\@bdp24 lol, ultimately a new listening room needs to built in the house for anything super crazy, this is the first room when you walk in the house. Aesthetics are somewh...
Vibration Issues / Turntable Decisions
@roxy54  Thanks! They are Decware HR-1 radials, absolutely amazing! I'll try some bracing this weekend and report back on my status.
Vibration Issues / Turntable Decisions
Here is my setup. As you can see the wall-self would look quite odd. I will try securing the cabinet to the back wall, good idea! The TD-150 does go nicely with the Decware equipment, I would like to keep it.https://cdn.pbrd.co/images/GMBMhCy.png ...
Vibration Issues / Turntable Decisions
Wall mount is an option, but ideal because I have molding that runs around the room at the ideal height so the TT would be quick high and look out of place.Currently it is sitting on a Marble topped console, but the issue is the room is over a cra...
recommendations of phono preamps < $3000 range
My brother has the Southerland and I have the Decware ZP3. Both are absolutely amazing. You really can't go wrong with either approach. I have attached links to the ZP3 and a review. Both have very low noise floors, the ZP3 is scary quiet for tube...
What Turnatable now?
I have a Decware ZP3 (http://www.decware.com/newsite/ZP3.htm) and it is just sublime. While it doesn't support a LOMC out of the box, adding a step-up transformer is the recommended way to go, regardless of your phono pre IMHO. I can't say enough ...
VPI Scout or GEM Dandy PolyTable
Yeah, from a Audiophile perspective, I try and find products that aren't overpriced for the sake of being overpriced. This is why the Polytable originally caught my eye.1600 for the base model, nice tonearm, no fuss no muss. The only reason I start...
VPI Scout or GEM Dandy PolyTable
Thanks for the details @leotis  what tonearm did you get?
VPI Scout or GEM Dandy PolyTable
That is a very good point, I agree not something to write off just yet. Once I try a non-suspended table design, I should have a better idea where I stand. I will report back after the testing is completed.
VPI Scout or GEM Dandy PolyTable
@raymonda I still might go with looking at a different table, going to test my brothers non-suspension table. If it does improve the footfall issues I have, then I will let you know and list my table here on A'gon.Thx.
