Have you reached your end point with this addictive hobby?
I believe I have my system right where I need to be now. After returning from Axpona over the weekend and listening to my system again I think I’m on par with 95% of what I heard there. Was thinking while I was listening to PS Audio Fr30 speakers ...
Have you reached your end point with this addictive hobby?
Just returned from Axpona and was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of companies displaying more affordable, albeit still costly equipment, that sounded incredible. A lot of what I heard I could live with and be happy with and call it a day. But t...

Will be interesting to see much the price of admission has changed from moderate to super high end equipment when I get to Chicago later today for Axpona. With the economy and other factors affecting luxury items sales I just don’t see why compani...

Heading to Axpona this weekend. Just another sign I haven’t reached my end point. 😂

I started to see the light when every year companies are raising the prices on the same components by 15-20%. This is much higher than 5-7% inflation rate we have seen in the past 4 years. What gives? Greed!

I always seem to screw things up by upgrading when I have my system sounding the best.

It's getting harder to let the chase get me excited anymore. I used to think with my next purchase I will finally be there, and I'll have what I have been looking for. I kind of think of it as Audio delusion: a false sense of being. In reality it'...

Channel D Seta L vs. BMC MCCI Signature ULN transimpedance phono preamps
Make sure you know what you are doing when hooking up your tone arm. XLR Pin one must never be hooked up to signal ground. Has to either be floated or attached to tone arm cable shield.

I own the BMC you’re talking about. Might be looking to let it go soon here on Audiogon.
Triangle Art Metis Horn Speakers
My experience with Triangle Art has been a nightmare. Purchased an Apollo Cartridge directly from Tom Vu and one channel stopped working. He immediately blamed me for miss use and would not take any responsibility for the cartridge problem. After ...
Townshend maximum super tweeters that they sell on Audiogon
Yes, I do. I’m running a pr with my Focal Maestro EVO’s. They add a bit of extension to the upper frequencies. System sounds more alive with them.
The future of LAMM without Vlad
I wonder who is their lead designer now that Vlad has passed? Seems when you move your business from one demographic to another much can easily be left behind. How about the actual support team that was behind the name. Did everyone move to Miami?...
Tour of the inside Sound Lab ESL electrostatic speaker.
Looks like a garage operation.
Magico speakers too clinical and fatiguing?
All the Magico haters seem to be out in force here. They can’t handle the fact that a speaker like any competent is supposed to add nothing to the sound. Magico corrects all the errors, or most of them, that other loudspeakers have. This intern gi...
