Getting hooked on 12" 45 rpm reissues
I agree totaly with you. I listen mainly to rock and have found 45 Lp's sound much better. Especially the Led Zep & the Jethro Tull releases, I would not want to buy them at todays prices though. A lot of the jazz & blues 45 releases sound...
You Still Need, What??
Thats why you do not bring anything home for the system unless it is complete. My wife knows this is a never ending money hungry hobby, but I'm happy. I think she looks at it as money in the bank.
Which is more accurate: digital or vinyl?
Digital is but a sample of the sound.Analog is the entire sound.
I found the sweet spot but it's 5ft off the floor
Is your head above the chairs back, also do you use a chair or couch? If you sit forward does the sound also get better? Where is the sound stage, high on the wall or at head level and lower?
I found the sweet spot but it's 5ft off the floor
I do not understand your problem. When I sit in my seat my ears are between 4' & 5' from the floor. The sweet spot is never at floor level because the speaker drivers are not horizontal along to the floor but vertical from floor to ceiling exc...
What started you on your audiophile journey .
I always had a stereo but after I installed an A/C system in a hi end stereo store and got the bug.
S/N ratio vs. dishes and stupid cats.
BTW I do have a man cave. That does not seem to matter or have any effect. I could try to move the cave to the basement but from time to time the basement gets wet so I think not.

Sometimes when listen in the evening my wife seems to pick that time as jacuzzi time also. All I hear then is a low rumble come through my black background.
Soundproofing basement ceiling..
If you cannot seperate or modify your heating systems duct work for the basement then you will never know if any of your sound proofing is working. The sound will carry through your entire house via the duct work.
MFSL moody blues: are they all so good?
I have the TP UHQR from MOFI and it is better than both the UK Deram and the reg MOFI. I listen to both the UK and the japanese releases more than either of the MOFI releases. I do not play the UHQR often because I do not want to damage it. I alwa...
Subwoofer crossovers
My Ref 3 has three stereo outputs, 2 that are adjusted by the volume control in all modes but HTpassthrough and/or processor input and one at a fixed output for recording. I plan on using the NHTx2 on one of the outputs from the Ref3 and the other...
Subwoofer crossovers
Edoor,I stand corrected, the Feq. switch I was talking about is for " the High Pass Filter determines the range of frequencies that the main speakers ("satellites") will reproduce" my mistake and I will not be using that option at all. I will be u...
Subwoofer crossovers
Edorr,Pink Floyd and some other music is why I upgraded from the Verity Ovation to the Sarastro's. I bottomed out the bass drivers of the Ovations with music from The Wall album. I prefer the sound of Verity speakers so I stayed with the line and ...
Subwoofer crossovers
Edorr,Sorry for the loooong delay in replying to you.I saw no reply's after 2 week and thought this was a dead thread.I am using my Sarastro II's full range. They have an 11 inch bass driver but I like how the JL's load the room and with Floyd mus...
Do you understand the words to the Mus U listen to
Since the days of the song Louie Louie by the Kingsmen I have not been able to understand all the words to any song with strong electric instruments and/or them screaming into the mike. I think I was 7 back then, so I gave up trying. I like adding...
