USB sucks
Thanks for the info Furzy, looks interesting, I may try it to compare to USB as the Antelope has spdif and optical inputs. However, even though I doubt it would be significant, those inputs are limited to 192 and 96K respectively whereas I can fee...
USB sucks
Since Rednet is a proprietary Focusrite interface that limits you to using Dante type pro audio interfaces that no high end DAC uses, doesn't that kind of make it so limited in scope that it really doesn't pertain to a discussion on an audiophile ...
This looks like a terrible investment
pig in a poke other than the sealed ones.. too much riskand what's with how they are displayed laying on their spines?
USB sucks
USB is a simple serial digital transport with checksumming and buffering!Transmitting audio data in realtime is not the same as transferring TeraBytes of data files. You should look into it before making such statements.
Uh Oh, Not another Bi-Wire thread...
Bi-cabling speakers implies using double quantity of cable. not necessarily. Some will terminate their cables as bi-wire for a small fee. Cardas adds $200 to the cost of their Clear Cygnus as an example.this also assumes that spending more on cabl...
DCS DACs vs each other
Antelope Eclipse 384, about $2500 used.... superbpossible issue..  for a remote you have to use their computer interface, works fine, just no physical remoteI had both a Rossini and a Chord DAVE and the Antelope holds it's ownyou could get a used ...
Chord Dave - Missing soundstage width
It is all about phase (when the signals from the left and right reach your ears) which is easily manipulated when making the recording. If one system has a different width then one is preserving the original phase better than the other i.e the oth...
Suggestions on Integrated Amp./Seperates to Run my Klipschorns
Why in the world are you looking at 200 watt amps for these? Here’s what you do. Buy a Chord DAVE. The output from the RCA jacks is more than enough to drive the Khorns to rocking levels. You get a world class DAC - preamp - and in this case power ...
10K system
too broad, ditto for MillerCarbon's responseis it based on streaming from the internet, playing records, CDS ???is there a certain genre to focus on? HipHop or rock that requires a strong bass line or classical or ???In any case an integrated fron...
Best Mods for a Mac-mini used as a Music Server
here we are a year later... I see the Sonore recommendations but doesn't  replace a Mini as a server if using Roon. Still need a Roon server unless I read it all wrong. Any updates from anybody? Looking at a 2018 Mini and a TeraDak power supply up...
Looking for best streamer without DAC under $3500
the guy ranting about USB is just plain wrong. Done right, like any other interface, can sound wonderful. $20K to deliver digital sounds like somebody has more money than sense. If you want to use Roon why not get the box specifically designed to ...
dCS Rossini Owners - sonic differences with and without the clock
right George, that’s a quote from the same review posted in the first response. And your point is ???? The OP asked for input from people who have used a particular DAC with a particular clock and the responses are about something else. How is tha...
dCS Rossini Owners - sonic differences with and without the clock
literally shooting themselves in the footThat means it actually happened, that they took a gun and put a bullet in their foot, don't you mean figuratively?I see the comments so far have nothing to do with your request for actual user experiences, ...
Uptone EtherRegen
I am curious about this device and may take a chance for $640. https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/uptone-audio-etherregen-switch-review.10232/One thing I would like to point out is about the review linked above that says it...
Questions about recording vimyl to computer?
For me, streaming is a no brainer. People complain because a service costs $15-20 a month. Are you kidding me? I used to spend sometimes hundreds a month on discs and vinyl for a few titles. Now for less than I paid for a single CD 30 years go I h...
