Thinking Jupiter I made the jump from the Planet 98 to the Jupiter 2002.The difference was slightly more detail, more weight to the bass and overall more substance. Although I like the Jupiter, I will probably be making another jump next year to either the Audio A...

Kharma 3.2 Owners, your thoughts... I have recently changed my tubes in the preamp from Sovtek to Siemens (NOS). The difference was not subtle. A lot of the etched sound which I complained about earlier was erased and replaced by a more rounded and earthier quality. I had heard that...
Who will survive? One last table til I die. I was at house where the owner had the $20,000 laser turntable. He stated that on a perfectly clean record, the sound is incredible. But on a less than perfect lp, the system has a hard time tracking. It doesn't sound like this product is perfecte...
Joseph Audio RM33si & others in the $8,000 range I agree with Dolphin. I listened to the Pearls at the show in NYC and also demo-ed a few other models at Park Avenue Audio. My impression was that they were very detailed but also dry sounding. The fatigue factor can not be overlooked.
Conrad Johnson Premier 16 LS and NOS Tubes - Help I have the 16 Series-2 which came with the stock Sovetek tubes. When I changed over to Siemens, the change was not subtle. Much smoother highs, more pronounced bass but not mushier. I guess more organic sounding overall.
Original Rega Planet vs. new Jupiter I had purchased the Rega Planet in 1999 and upgraded to the Jupiter in 2002. The improvement most notable for me was in the bass response which had more weight to it. There was also a slight increase in detail. The Jupiter still has the rega sound...

Kharma 3.2 Owners, your thoughts... I have just ordered some Siemens 6922 tubes for the Conrad Johnson Preamp. I have been told that the sound of these tubes are vastly superior to the current Sovtek tubes and that part of the issue I'm having with the sound being a bit etched can b...

Lamm ML2 Vs Tenor 75 Tireguy,You are correct in remembering that I've got the 3.2's with the Lamm ML2. The combination produces unbelievable detail and dimension but I was also hoping to get a lot more air and immediacy. My concern is that the Tenor's have the potenti...
Kharma confusion I've got the 3.2's but without the Diamond tweeter. I was told that the diamond upgrade would add 20K to the price. |
