speakers for 15' by 12' listening room? I have a room almost the exact same size. I am currently trying a pair of Usher Be-718's on loan from a local dealer. These are wonderful speakers in many ways and have very good bass for standmounts. The berylium (sp?) tweeter provide lots of det...
Cary 805, deHavilland or Atma-Sphere? Anyone cares Another option for more bass is KR Audio amps. I have the Kronzilla SXI and bass control is wonderful (among other things). I like to use Bela Fleck's Flight of the Cosmic Hippo as a bass reference and the Kronzilla really graps the bass by the se...
Alternative to Kondo with Living Voice There was a recent thread about this if you do a search on Living Voice speakers. I think member Garyralph has had a New Audio Frontiers Living Voice combo. There is a NAF amp for sale now (as well as Living Voice speakers). I'd jump on the NAF if...
speaker to big? I have a room that is on the small side (13x15) and found the same thing -- at louder levels the room really got overloaded. But I got a RealTraps kit and the situation improved dramatically. I can play music as loud as I want now without problems...
Tube amps with BALLS in the low end registrer ??? I second Kaicable's response re: Kronzilla DX. I have the KRonzilla SXi with half the power of the DX (50 watts/channel) using 90db sensitive speakers and the way the Kronzilla grabs hold of the low end and still remains extremely musical is astou...
Anyone recommend a neutral tube amp? The KR Audio tube amps with their reverse hybrid design are very neutral ranging in power from 20-100 watts/channel (actually one version at 200W).
Cost no Object but Small Room I have a small room too and recently contacted John DeVore at DeVore Fidelity about his line of speakers, particularly the Silverbacks. He claims that they would work well in rooms about the size of yours. Don't know if you have any dealers in HK,...
What tube amp to drive Guarneri's? Following up on Gregm's recommendation, I recently got the KR Audio Kronzilla SXI integrated. It is extremely transparent and has AMAZING bass -- not just deep but it really takes control of the woofers, well beyond the more powerful solid state a...
New monoblocs for Maxx II, which ones When doing my own research on a new amp, I ran across this review of the Kronzilla by Brad Morrical: http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue28/kronzilla.htmHe was quite impressed with the Kronzilla paired with Wilson X1. Anyway, something to consider.
High End Integrated Choices I finally received a KR Audio Kronzilla SXI and have to add it as a high end integrated to consider. It is still breaking in, but I'm enjoying it very much. Bass control is amazing. Very high resolution with crystal clear highs and long decay. lot...
New Audio Frontiers "Legend" integrated amplifier Jtinn, In what way is the NAF beautiful sounding? I have ordered a KR Audio Kronzilla SXI, but vacillated between that and the NAF 845 SE Special Edition Integrated. They are both carried by the same distributor, so it is possible to switch my ord...
SET for 88 dB 4 ohm loadspeaker The KR Kronzilla DX monoblock has 2 T-1610 Kronzilla tubes in parallel for a total output of 100Watt SET. Here is a review: http://www.enjoythemusic.com/superioraudio/equipment/0506/kr_audio_dx_monoblock.htm The Kronzilla SX and SXI stereo version...
SET for 88 dB 4 ohm loadspeaker oops, I meant Mastersound 845 Ref. As a banjo player, I think about the Gibson Mastertone whenever I write mastersound.
SET for 88 dB 4 ohm loadspeaker KR Audio produces a number of higher power SETs, that output 20-100 Watts SET depending on model. I have their SXI integrated on order with 50W output from the Kronzilla tube. I currently have a Ming Da with an 805/300b combo that puts out about 4...
Repair for Meixing amp? Is this a new amp? I had that problem when my Ming Da arrived a couple of years ago. The fuse was rated for 220V. For 110 V the fuse needed to be twice as high -- eg 6 amp instead of 3 amp. |
