Oh, the Lumin has its' own player app. I have read where some use JRiver, but I have on experience with it.

I think the Lumin sounds better than many outboard DAC. The Bricasti is a great sounding DAC, no doubts in this camp. However, I have heard it with a MAC mini setup, Esoteric SACD,  and the  Aurender N100 Network Streamer. The Lumin sounds better ...

I ripped my CD directly to the USB stick. Maybe that's the problem. I will try copying a music file from my NAS to the USB stick.

I have the A1. However by USB will see a thumb drive with digital file, but my Lumin will not play it. How did you get yours to work?  
What's going on with the audio market?
Geoffkait, you forgot Command Performance, United Audio, iqexchange. 64, 49, ?.  I retired this year, so I am not buying now because I purchased gear to take me into retirement. May buy a nice headphone setup this year.

@ben2300 Actually I started out with a Lumin D-1, and upgraded to the A-1. It of course has the external power supply, and I used a Synology NAS. Need to choose a backup option now.  Loving the convenience and sound quality. I will ill be interest...

Hi Phusis, Iike your analysis.Yesterday I returned my Fosgate Phono amp to my VTL 5.5 preamp, and immediately noticed a lost in dynamics and transparency. Needless to say I switched back to the direct connection of my phono amp to my Audio Mirror ...
