You might want to consider getting a Philips, Pioneer or Denon and having it modified. I have a modified Pioneer DV47a (modright) that sounds quite good.harry

I have a marantz VP-12s2 which is a bit out of your price range....but I've seen some great deals on the s1 and s2 since the s3 came out. It's an excellent projector.harry

Onyhwy61: If mono in your car sounds as good as stereo...you need to look into how great a car system can be.

I have the 800 W Innersound ESL Monoblocks. If you really want to go crazy...go with the 1000W Killer Monoblocks. Increadible.

I have a 40gb Ipod and Shure e5c with the custom integrated ear molds. Absolutely amazing. The earmolds require a little work in that molds must be made from your ear canal...but this turned out to be a breeze. Take a look here:http://store.yahoo....

I also use 176.4 which I prefer sonically over 196. I've been told that this is because 176.4 is a multiple of 44.1...but I really don't know if there is any truth to this. I use filter 1 exclusively but haven't experimented with the filters as mu...

HT and 2-channel music setup - New Ideas?
Distortion et al:Sorry i "failed" to remind everyone that I use my AV processor primarily for AV processing and not 2 channel listening. It is true that I isolate my two channel path so that it doesn't travel through the AV processor when I'm list...

Dan did an extensive modification to my Pioneer DV-47a on the analog and digital side. Additionally, I had him put Bybees in all 5 channels. Beautiful work and sonically outstanding. You can't go wrong with Dan.
GNSC Wadia Statement Mods/Heard Them?
Dan (Kana): You know me by now. As I always do, I will simply do a week or two of blind A/B comparisons of:Wadia 270se (w/GNSC Statement mods) without Apogee Big Ben versus Wadia 270se (w/GNSC Statement mods) with Apogee Big Ben!!!The winner will ...
GNSC Wadia Statement Mods/Heard Them?
Steve....if you still are reading this thread:Could you please describe the differences between the reference level modification...and the statement level modification. What additional benefits is one likely to hear? I just can't imagine improvemen...
GNSC Wadia Statement Mods/Heard Them?
Sure, Steve is extremely honest...but let me give you my objective opinion of the 270se with GNSC reference level modification:It is the most outstanding, musically accurate piece of audio equipment I have owned during my 25 years of involvement i...
What is Chroma Bug
I must TOTALLY disagree with the advice given above. If we followed a similar line of thinking about audio...we would be saying things like.....don't learn what high frequency distortion sounds like....ignorance is bliss!!! or don't even think abo...
