Goldmund Studio - still relevant today?
Dear Mark, Don´t waste your money and time. Life is short. Here´s my story.Back in 1990 I owned brand new Studio but not with the linear arm. The DD motor by JVC is excellent BUT the problem is the flimsy floating suspension. It just floats causi...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
The same with the phono capacitance value, the lower the better. I noticed this two decades ago when changed from 250 pF to 120 pF for one of my best MMs. Now I have a handful of vintage top MM/IM carts and they all seriously benefit from very low...

Oh no. Another very sad news in a last few days.I never owned the Platine but have wanted to for so many years. I´ve always admired his work, especially the maglev bearing which was revolutionary back in the day and still is. Fortunately I have a...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Don´t waste your time with 100K like I did. Suggested by Halcro and Fleib I switched back to lower values, in fact I´m extremely happy with 20K and enjoying sound quality never before experienced. I no longer miss 47K either but it´s a very good v...
Trans Fi Salvation direct rim drive turntable
Spirit & all,The biggest impvt changes have been in order of precedence 1st air bearing TA, 2nd direct rim drive TT in my analog rig. The maglev bearing is the dot of it, actually another very serious impvt. It simply works fabulously. The soun...
Trans Fi Salvation direct rim drive turntable
Me ? I´m just a lawnlower.I´m glad to hear your testimony on the latest implementation in the mighty Salvation TT, the extraordinary maglev feet. My delrin maglev feet have arrived to harbour, hardly can wait for the courier to come knocking at my...
Trans Fi Salvation direct rim drive turntable
No wonder, Vic is a magician. After my own maglev for the platter I have no doubts about the benefits of maglev feet as well. I told him that I want to levitate my plinth too and I suggested that he could make me brass feet with ring magnets. Vic ...
Vintage DD turntables. Are we living dangerously?
Kenwood´s platter in partly "suspended" like Clearaudio´s. Actually it´s not floating and the spindle maintain contact with the trust pad. But the maglev takes platter´s weight in some extent and the force exerted on the spindle and trust pad is l...
Vintage DD turntables. Are we living dangerously?
Lewm, I do believe that the L07D is a triumph in TT design namely due its successfully completed construction in every aspect in one single product. I just think that the maglev is the dot of i, so to speak. The Victor TT-101 is a triumph in speed ...
Vintage DD turntables. Are we living dangerously?
Lewn, Glad to hear again that the Kenwood L07D is the protagonist on your stage. Proves the superiority of the maglev spindle over other designs. Without having not heard your system I do believe your evaluation 100 % and would agree because I hav...
Siltech cables. Help to recognize originals.
Conclusion: it´s practically impossible to recognize original Siltech cables nowadays ? I bought my Siltech cables 3 pairs interconnects in the very early 90´s so I guess I´m lucky as they all "sound" excellent, no sibilance nor other annoying iss...
Trans-fi Terminator T3PRO opinions please...
Terry & Spirit, Funny coincidence as I´m working on the final stage on levitating my TT and I have no time to tweak the airflow of TA but I will try a large (20 litre perhaps) tank later with my Sera 275 R. Actually I´m testing an uber rare vi...
Trans-fi Terminator T3PRO opinions please...
Terry, On smoothing we must focus to get out the best of our systems. A stoopid question: does a large tank alone before the arm manifold complete this job, do we really need a leaky tank in the chain ?
Trans-fi Terminator T3PRO opinions please...
Terry, I´ll buy one and add a 20 litre tank on my own path. Many thanks for guidance.
