Cracked glass/ Mcintosh Thanks, to all for your time and advice. The length of time is what I was concerned with and no pics of the cracked glass. In the owners manual it shows how to unpack the amp and it was done exactly how the manual showed. Harley52
accuphase compare to mcintosh Audiozen sounds like he's a dealer. Not a bad thing, but calls into question his passion for Accuphase and his dislike of Mac gear. While I could own a piece, one piece that is, it is not that the Accu brand is over priced but, our pathetic govern...
Early stages of choosing replacement floorstanders VSA VR22's and VR33's are made for very close to rear wall placement.
What ohm to set amp I went over to the Mac site and the amp is rated for 4&8 ohms. If you'd like detailed info or any info really, e=mail Chuck Hinton of Mac. He can answer most any question you have.
Mapleshade boards under speakers Well, I know I'm in the wrong business. Maple at those prices are robbery. I have noticed the crazy prices on most all of the Mapleshade stuff and the wild claims. But, if one person hears a difference then Mapleshade can truthfully say their stuf...
bookshelf speakers There are a couple speakers called the'Clue' and 'Guru', that are made for close to a wall and not sound bass heavy. I just can't think of the builder right now. There are others but, I don't recall them.
Do Active Speakers Belong In A High End System? Audiophiles tend to be terrified of something other than 2,3 or 4 drivers stuck in a box. Why, is beyond me. I know, I spent many years being stuck in a 6-12 inch sweetspot. The 'h' with that. Too much of that sound is built on unrealistic staging...
What speakers should I consider around $5000? Matt, You might want to check out the Vapor Sound speakers. A whole lot of speaker for any price. They have several models and they're pretty much built to your liking. I have the Aurora's coming. I choose those because they were the closest thing...
Von Schweikert VR 22 Hey Mark, Do the 22's give a large sweetspot/sweetscape? If so, about how large in feet. Thanks
"this is the product Ohm puts out" I got an e-mail this morning that they will have UPS pick up the speakers and they have shipped another pr. to me. JS, said in an e-mail that he was on vaca this week so Jay would take care of me. Which Jay did. I just hope all goes well this time...
"this is the product Ohm puts out" I messed up on a sentence on the last remarks. It should read; the left speaker is dead and the right one has no low end. Sorry for causing some confusion.
"this is the product Ohm puts out" I sent an e-mail to Ohm yesterday and waiting for a reply as to what they want to do. When I posted the original remarks, I hadn't hooked the speakers up. They're hooked up now and I can't believe anyone would put a product that sounds like these ...
salesperson recomends what do you think The one that I wouldn't waste my time on are the B&W's. Real screamers. But, if you lack hearing in any way they may be to your liking. The SF's are rather nice sounding. The other two I haven't heard.
Are Gemme Audio G5 Tonic any good? Gemme Audio is no longer in business, which may be why they haven't sold.
Steve guttenberg My reaction was in regards to the article he wrote in Cnet. The only one I've heard of, along with around 90% of people is Riki L Jones. |
