| McIntosh preamps I listened to the 2700 and I own the 1100. The difference is substantial. The 1100 has a larger and deeper soundstage with greater dynamics. The 2700 is very good if you don’t want to spend the extra money and it does have a good phono stage. | |

| Marantz SA-10 I don’t know about your Modwright player but I own a Marantz SA 10 and my previous player was an Esoteric KO1. The Marantz is better in about every perameter which really surprised me. A great value for the $. | |

| Why so much love for Mcintosh? Hiendmmoe detail and resolution are very good but not thrown at you like some electronics. Vocal lines are extremely easy the hear that were previously obscured on other equipment. C1100 and mc611 are a great combo. | |
