Upgrade from BluNode 2i with a new DAC or Integrated Streamer DAC?
Thanks all.  Went for the Pontus II 12th new after all.  The used Matrix Audio X Sabre PRO I was looking at had been through two owners making me wonder if it was somehow less satisfying.  Some other genrally favorable reviews implied that a bit a...

I would one last question.  New vs used bang of the buck?
Upgrade from BluNode 2i with a new DAC or Integrated Streamer DAC?
Sois:  Thanks for that article.  The head to head was helpful.  Ahh, the subtleties of taste highlight how even the engineering of electronics at some point is an art.  The rate of development in that art is more than a bit mind boggling.  While I...

Any opinion on the Matrix Audio X Sabre PRO?  How would might it compare to the Denefrips Pontus II.

Thanks.  Your reply seems practical , useful and seems consistent with some other chains with the price limits I have set.  Many of the chains when getting lengthy seem to digress into confusing arrays of nuances as the $$$$ for components goes up...

How long can Magnepan speaker last?
My magnapan 3.1s still sound great at 30+ years!  After 25 years some of the wires separated from the Mylar.  Glue deteriorated but also my bad as I was playing home theater thru them loudly “Ford vs. Ferrari”.  Don’t do that!  Anyway although I o...

👍 rok.  Prompted me to pull out original vinyl set of the Smithsonian Collection.  Still in pristine condition.  Stuff like this is good reason for keeping a “quality” TT system if your own vintage leaves you with a good collection of vinyl e.g. “...

My collection of vintage artists, while it can never be complete, is huge in vinyl and CDs.  How about recommendations of current Jazz artists/albums/cuts.  Not hanging out Covid leaves me looking.  I like Trombone Shorty, Bella Fleck, Charlie Hun...

Different experiences, different strokes.  No disrespect intended.  My son turned down an offer to play bass for Slipknot when the band was just forming.  Didn’t like heavy metal much.  Too bad.  He would be well healed today.  Loves Jazz and blue...

Okay Schubert, but “not Heavy Metal”?  You seem to love classical. I have spoken to a number of symphony musicians and the overwhelming majority prefer Heavy Metal to other rock, rhythm and blues even Jazz.  They site the technical difficulty, orc...

Couldn’t agree more with all those drummers all great, all different styles and subtleties.  I’m 73yrs/old and loved jazz since I toddled across a number of my dad’s 78s breaking them almost making him cry.I must add one more to the list:  Ginger ...
Jazz for someone who doesn't like jazz.
So many relevant comments and good suggestions.  From blurry beginning through so many styles and influences to the  fuzzy ill defined jazz fusion(s).  Samplers are good in many ways but I appreciate the approach of a child.  I listened to what my...
