Electraglide Ref. I vs. Ref. II? Jaykapur, you are correct! I am in the process of sending them in to EG to trade up to the Reference 2000.
Headphone amp for Sennheiser HD600 I got it confused! I was thinking of the Sennheiser tube amp that I saw at HeadRoom's website for $12,000!
Headphone amp for Sennheiser HD600 Thanks to everyone for excellent advices. Although the Wheatfield is a nice amp, at over $10K, I think my wife would hang me before I finish listening to my first album. EarMax, MG Head, and X-Can v2 all seemed to be good contenders with MG and X-...
Anyone tried Voodoo or TG Audio PCs? Received an e-mail from Bruce from Voodoo Audio. I am hoping to set something up for the local audiophile society comparing several powercords. Sorry Bruce for not been able to update this sooner.

San Francisco Bay Area Audio Society There are several events hosted by SF BAAS. Dennis & the gang have been doing a great job pulling in manufacturers and local audio retailers in demoing products. There have also been several member-led discussion/learing forums on specific top...
Audio Research PH3 Owners Turning on and off the equipment is more harsh on the tubes than leaving them on. Leave them on if you listen quite often. If you plan on not listening for more than a few days, then turning the unit off. If you leave your unit on 24/7, the tubes ...
Phono cable for Michell Orbe TT MH750 is a speaker cable, if I am not mistaken. What phono cable do you have connecting from your tonearm to your phono stage?
Ref 2, MK 1 v. Mk, II Do a search on the BAT preamps. I think BAT is one of the first company to jump on this tube. They probably have a lot of discussion on their website about this tube. And of course, compare to the Sovtek 6922/6DJ8s, they sound better. I suspect th...
Ref 2, MK 1 v. Mk, II I assume we are talking about ARC Ref 2 preamp. I've heard from many that the LS-25 Mk I can sound as good as the Mk II by upgrading to NOS tubes. And it's cheaper. I am sure this is also the case for Ref 2.
LPs - display/storage etc ideas When I was in college, I bought bunch of these plastic crates that are stackable for my books. They were great, because when you move, you just detach the crates and move them. They were inexpensive solutions for my book storage needs, and now I u...
gyrodec vs. systemdek? who gets decked? definitely get a Live Origin modified RB250. It's a worthy investment. Actually, I heard that you can order the fully modified RB250 from Live Origin in England, for less that what you pay for an original one in the U.S. I was seriously contemplat...
B W N802 with Pass 350? I had heard the 802s with a recent version of the Mcintosh solid state amp, and they sounded really good. My cousin is a classical musician, and have recorded several CDs. She had played her recording on their system and tested against her live "p...
Anyone tried Voodoo or TG Audio PCs? Well, no reply from Voodoo for the PC challange. I guess they are afraid to stand behind their products. I have decided to get the PS Audio lab cable for my P300, and a Whale Elite and a HG Audio HSR-i to try. |
