Acoustic Zen Silver Bytes digital cable
You're probably right. It really depends on the system, and the listener as to which they'll prefer.
Anyone using their Jolida JD 100 as a transport?
Good point Robm321. It would seem the emphasis is on Jolida's tube output stage.
Anyone using their Jolida JD 100 as a transport?
I have no experience with the Jolida, so I don't know if my recommendation will increase dynamics or detail in your system, but you might want to look into a combination of the Audio Mirror D1 DAC which costs $500 new, connected via Acoustic Zen M...

Pat.You ARE a hero.I appreciate the time you've taken to relate your daily thoughts and feelings. It must be incredibly difficult. More than I'll probably ever realize. Thanks for teaching us all.Dean
Acoustic Zen Silver Bytes digital cable
Tooter,That's a first for me. I've never heard that one. One way to find out is to contact Robert Lee at Acoustic Zen.InfoZen@AcousticZen.comOne thing to consider though. A couple years ago, I bought a BAT VK3i to pair with my BAT VK200. I was at ...
Acoustic Zen Silver Bytes digital cable
It's not really recent hype, it's been discussed for a few years. While I have owned digital cables in 1.5 meter length, I've never compared a one meter versus a one and a half meter cable of the same brand so I don't have an opinion on this theory.
What to expect?
Be excited and enjoy it! It'll be fun to find out how it does stack up against redbook. I should do the same experiment.
Acoustic Zen Silver Bytes digital cable
Another MC2 fan here. I've used about five or six different digital cables and the AZ is the one I've stuck with. Many of the others I've owned sounded closed-in by comparison. Only the Virtual Dynamics Nite was comparable in terms of soundstage s...
which preamp would you choose?
Hi Antmo,The choice between those two preamps I think would depend on what kind of sound you're trying to sculpt.I own or have owned preamp/amp combos similar to what you're considering and I've found that different tube preamps will exert their s...
Un-WARP your records
I don't care for this method. I get sand in my ass every time I do it.
Solid state "backup" amp recommendation
Semi,As Pdreher says, the VK200 does indeed run hot. You may be able to touch the top of the case, but the heatsinks will definitely give you permanent waffle fingers, heheh. If the newer Pass Labs amps runs hot as well, I'd consider the CI Audio mo...
Solid state "backup" amp recommendation
I can relate to your situation. I primarily run a Bel Canto SET40 which runs very hot, and use a BAT VK200 as an alternate. The only thing is that the VK200 runs pretty damn hot as well! I really liked the Pass Aleph 3 in my system, and if not for...

Prpixel,I hope you have better luck with this unit. A lot of people have these modded and I've never heard of a problem with them. May the search end here. Good luck!Until the next format change, heheh.Dean
Best Spooky, Moody, Atmospheric Home Theatre Demo
Fahrenheit 9-11 shown in "Feel-Around" would be damn spooky.Next time you have guests over, stand behind them as they're watching the movie [or any movie], and whatever the protagonist on screen experiences, you do the same to your guests. Should ...
Spelts interconnects silver ?
Grisslehamn, does Paul Speltz make an interconnect? I have a pair of his Anti-Cable speaker cables, but didn't know whether he had an interconnect as well. I'd be interested if he did. Maybe you could just DIY a set from the raw magnet[?] wire he ...
