Hi Stealth,I'd really appreciate it if you could figure out a way for me to stop the constant upgrading, heheh.Dean
Has audiophilia changed your music taste?
Some good, honest answers here.Obviously there seems to be two camps. Those whose tastes were unaffected and unchanged by their venture into audiophilia, the better gear seems to have enhanced what they were already experiencing. And those like myse...
Do you keep your amps and preamps on all the time
I leave my transport and DAC on all the time. The Kora doesn't have an on/off switch on the front and is meant ot be left on and in standby mode.I only turn my preamp and amp on when I'm getting ready to use them though. Too much heat, energy and ...
The Scariest Story Ever Told?
Sometimes late on sunday nights I like to listen to the Hearts of Space and Pipe Dreams broadcasts over the radio. I turn off all the lights, crank up the music and lay on top of my bed like a Haitian zombie waiting to be resurrected.Sometimes tha...
Has audiophilia changed your music taste?
She looks like a demented Captain Janeway from Voyager, and sings with phrasing like a wounded animal, but she's damn good!
Has audiophilia changed your music taste?
Patricia Barber is a great case in point. If not for high end audio I would have never heard of her.
Has audiophilia changed your music taste?
It's made a HUGE difference, because as I said audiophilia has exposed me to so many genres of music I'd never previously tasted. When I started buying expensive equipment I did initally buy within some music categories I was never into before. And...
Has audiophilia changed your music taste?

Best acoustic -natural instruments CD's
Actually, I think the Diana Krall CDs aren't that bad, so I guess that counts me out.

I owe an eternal thanks to Sherod who after reading about my regret at throwing away my Dad's thirty year old Sansui receiver, bought TWO of them on Ebay and sent them to me. FREE.
Need a pair 2m Sub cables for Tyler Sub
I've been using a stereo run of AP Sub Oval as well and like it. The four meter run I'm using sounds good and was very affordable from Audiogon member Disco.
HT and 2 channel sub switch
Muskrat, does the HGS12 have an additional input that bypasses the crossover and/or gain control?I'm using an AV500 for my HT and also have a separate 2 channel system in the same room. Both systems share a common NHT SW3P passive sub that I'm pow...
Building Rack - Need Suggestions for Maple & Brass
I recently bought a nice piece 16.5 x 51 x 2" thick slab of maple on Ebay. I chopped it in half with a Japanese handsaw to make a mobile amp stand. I still need to joint it and finish it.You could also buy a piece like that from Mapleshade cut to ...
How many dancing audiophiles out there?
I tried swing dancing once here in Los Angeles, and I don't think anyone sucks at it more than I do. I'm down right orthopedic! I had a better time trying flamenco at a Cuban restaurant. It probably has to do with my music preferences as well.
