Hello Photonman, the problem of 4" of maple butcherblock under speakers is probably not going to be the maple.... 'Tis the darn 4 extra inches, which my raise the drivers too high for ideal listening... Why not experiment with some Terrastone foot...

Hi Photonman, I have never heard of "TerraStone from Eden Sound"... But here is the URL....http://edensoundaudio.com/FAQ_TerraStones.htmlThe product line is intriguing.... Whether it works better/worse than maple bases, or Adona bases, or HRS... I...
Experiencing Rowland M925 4-chassis reference amps
At 150 hours of operation plus 50 hours on low level standby – The undue ringing (I cannot call it steeliness any longer) is barely detectable on a coupleof notes only…. E.g. The closing note of the motet…. Images are continuing the fleshing-out p...
Hypex Ncore NC400
Tony, which Channel Islands amp is based on Ncore? I went to the web site.... Seems both D500 and D200 are based on older Hypex UCD modules. As far as I know, the Ncore NC400 module by Hypex is solde only to the DIY market. OEM manufacturers purch...

Hahaha David... You may have a point! To put things into perspective, we are talking here about a very young Tania D'Althann, probably in her late teens or early twenties, on a work with melodic embelishments which are devilishly difficult to rend...

Esoteric K01: What are the best settings for CD?
Audiolabyrinth, just leave K-01 on when you are not using it... the player sounds wonderful without any pre-listening playing time.... but if you have the patience of letting it play a couple of CDs in the background before critical listening, you...
Experiencing Rowland M925 4-chassis reference amps
At about 100 hours of operations, and an additional 45 hours on standby with the linestage feeding FM hash from the tuner into the M925's input transformers, here is a very brief updateThankfully the rather jarring steeliness in the resonance note...
Shunyata Hydra
Hmm, could the wires and PC that the OP is using be counterfits and not original Shunyatas? It is one possible explanation for a perceived sonic invariance.
Jeff Rowland Preamps
Hi Syntax, I have been using the Rowland Criterion linestage for a few years now.... Feeding Rowland M312, M625, M725, and now Rowland M925 as of last week. After all this time I am still in love with Criterion for its exquisite resolution and mus...
Shunyata Hydra
Hi Jamiek, which Hydra model/version have you used... And which other shunyata wires/versions?What does the rest of your system look like? How many hours of playing time have you allowed on your Shunyata loom and conditioner?Guido
Experiencing Rowland M925 4-chassis reference amps
At 20 hours, the stage has a nice depth to it.... In addition, resolution is intriguing. Yes, I am discovering some of my CDs anew... if sometimes in unusual ways: I have a set of Bach Well Tempered Klavier played on harpsichord; and I had never r...
