Experiencing Rowland M925 4-chassis reference amps
Sorry Bernard, the generalized class X versus class Y discussion is meaningless... In practice, no class is inherently superior to any other class... There are amps ranging from superb down to mediocre in every class... The only thing which matter...
Experiencing Rowland M925 4-chassis reference amps
Hi Bernard, here are the reasons why the cooling blocks of M825 and M925 look the way they do....* The semi-enclosed Venturi chimneys of these cooling units are more efficient than traditional blade designs in accellerating upwards air-flow and di...

That is fabulous Brnard... You will love M825... Do keep us posted!Guido
Experiencing Rowland M925 4-chassis reference amps
Excellent questions Bernard, let me try to address them…• You are correct about the inherent sonic/musical limitations of old amplifiers based on the past generation of ICEpower modules. Without a lot of work from the amp designers, ICEpower ASP s...

Excellent choice Krell888... While M725 remains an exceedingly fine monoblock amplifier, I found M825 to outperform it.... More revealing than M725, and more musical at the same time.... And I fully expect a single M825 to deliver a larger stage a...
Why Palladium in cables, wiring, etc. . .?
Hi RJA, you bring up an interesting point... I conjecture that Silver, with its maximum conductivity, might sound best.... If the electronics of all recording equipment also used silver copiusly, and recording engineers routinely tuned and optimiz...
D-SONIC SOA Class-D Core Amps. The best Class-D ?
Thank you Tan, please keep us posted as the sound of your D-Sonic amps evolves...... Meantime Tim, what's new with your quest?G.
D-SONIC SOA Class-D Core Amps. The best Class-D ?
Hi Tan, tell us about the rest of your system, including cabling, and what amps the D-Sonics are replacing... .... What music are you listening to... How is the sound different from the old amps?G.
Why Palladium in cables, wiring, etc. . .?
You are right Larryi, I have no real information about the conductive properties of semi-liquid Indium-Gallium alloys... But I heard a system at RMAF all wired with these kinds of metallurgy... Probably the single worst sound that I ever heard in ...
Why Palladium in cables, wiring, etc. . .?
I will stick to old fashioned highly conductive copper and silver... Except for resisting to corrosion, looking pretty, and being outrageously expensive, Palladium is even less conductive than Iron.G.S.
Why Palladium in cables, wiring, etc. . .?
As Palladium is a relatively non reactive metal, It is probably not as toxic as Mercury. But if you want a truly bizarre speaker wire formulation, try the semi-fluid Indium Gallium alloy speaker wires from TEO... I heard them at RMAF a few years a...
D-SONIC SOA Class-D Core Amps. The best Class-D ?
Hi Dennis, why not post some tech info -- such as power conversion modules -- on the product page for each amplifier in the D-Sonic web site... Would reduce this kind of uncertainty in the obsessive audiophilic lore. G.
Is computer audio a bust?
Thank you JoeCasey, interesting about BDP-2 buffering capability. Are you talking about Ethernet from server to DAC? BDP-2 does not have RJ45 out, and Aeris does not have RJ-45 in.G.
Is computer audio a bust?
Being an audio dinosaur, I am happily feeding redbooks from the SPDIF coax of my Esoteric X-01 into a Rowland Aeris DAC/pre, which upsamples the signal to 192K.Eventually, if the techno-dust settles, I might become persuaded to migrate to a dedica...
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD
Agear, unfortunately generic questions do not often have attractive universal answers... The audio devil always lurks in the proverbial details.Hence the endless variables... Which CDPs, which computers, which connections, which user preferences, ...
