Coincident Statement Line Stage vs Jadis JP80MC vs EAR 868PL vs Aesthetic Janus
BTW, I am also open to suggestion on what phono preamp to mate with the CSLS. Since I only listen to vinyl 20% of my time, I can’t justify to buy the Coincident phono pre.  I feel $1500 used would be my budget.  And maybe a SS phono will match wel...
Other Rectifier tubes Alternative for 5AR4
@wrm57 thank you very much.
DC meter on power amp
those pots on top of the 300B doesn’t change the readings, no matter where the volume is.  But interestingly, I just try change the 5AR4 on the high reading side, now the readings match, both about 72mA.  I tried switch the left and right of the 5...

@rodman99999 No problem, thank you very much for your input.
DC meter on power amp
@rodman99999 i tried turning the screw on top of the 300B, they don’t change the readings.  But I can hear a louder hum if I turn them.can you elaborate how would the sound be affected by this?  And more importantly, what should I do?  Like buy an...
DC meter on power amp
It is a custom built Otomon Lab amp.  The builder, Ken, said it is “fixed bias”.  I request to have two meters just because I think they looks cool.  I am actually thinking a VU meter that will move when playing the music, LoL.http://soundgate.net...
Modwright LS100 vs The followings
Haven’t ask a very important question, which 101D you are using?
Modwright LS100 vs The followings
@thaluza thank you for your feedback.  May I ask what DAC and cable you use?  It would be ideal if I can increase the tonal density.  I am tempted to try a R2R DAC.and yes, I hear you, my ModWright has a remote, it is so much more convenient, espe...
Modwright LS100 vs The followings
@charles1dad Both preamp can draw me into music but in a different way.  I am 95% listen to Jazz where most of the song has vocal, saxophone, drums, cello, guitar, trumpet and piano.  The Modwright really have a rich tone.  For female vocals, it i...
Modwright LS100 vs The followings
@charles1dad it uses the new ISO Tango but not the Hirata Tango.  I tried a couple 300B: Shuguang black treasure, Sophia Princess and TJ Full Music.  The Black Treasure has the darkest sound and at the same time feeling less dynamic.  The TJ has t...
Modwright LS100 vs The followings
Actually, I am not 100% correct.  While the DAC sound good with ModWright, it is actually not “right” but I never realize it.  After I change back to the stock 6N1P, when I go back to ModWright, it sounds more “correct”. There are more slam as how...
Modwright LS100 vs The followings
That’s exactly right.  For the Modwright, the difference in sound is not as obvious when changing tubes and cables.  For the CSL, it is VERY obvious.  I guess that’s what transparent means?  It doesn’t add anything as it is not there.  So, the CSL...
Modwright LS100 vs The followings
@charles1dad I can see you are using a Yamamoto DAC.  I am using a Musical Paradise MP-D2 DAC.  It sounds excellent on Modwright, but a bit too lean on the Coincident.  @facten I am using NOS Phillips 6SN7WGTB and Millard 5AR4 on Modwright.
Modwright LS100 vs The followings
@charles1dad what is the rest of your system?
Modwright LS100 vs The followings
And I also completely agreed with charles1dad description on the Coincident statement, it is spot on as well.  Open, dynamic, transparent.also, the Coincident seems more sensitive to the cables.  I use Neotech 3004 RCA on Modwright and they sound ...
