Retirement integrated amp for a “fiscal conservative”
that's a nice $ for an integrated. I could only tell you what's good (great) for a third of that. Simaudio, Hegel, Moonriver, Van Alstine would be on my list

Nashville is exploding and full of very affluent people very true and not in a good way, for the most part. Where has its charm gone?
The Disappearing Act
very recording dependent for me. Some albums from the 60s already have it but .likely not. Also genre dependent, studio dependent, etc.
Have an integrated amp with only 1 subwoofer out...
use the speaker level inputs from your amp's speaker out, it worked for me nicely. The split is a Y giving you two  outs from your pre-out on your amp. If you don't have a pre-out, how would you connect the EQ?

@ghasley you didn't say it, I did. 97% of the world doesn't have 2.34 million or whatever the number is for a "secure"  retirement as we are being fed that by wealth management "gurus" and "experts"  and they seem to be a lot happier and less ten...

not everyone should get a boring corporate job with possibly little to nothing to contribute to society. I know I am naive and a dreamer but when you retire, what would you rather have behind you, 20 years in an "office space" cubicle or 1000s of ...

I tried to splitter, with mixed results. Does your sub have a speaker connection/binders?

on the same wave as @audiokinesis I looked at 120+ speaker companies web sites (for 100s of hours but closer to 1000s) and more than half of them have no presence in the US. But it is worse than that because they do have a global distribution page...
Will an Amp change improve my system ?
your list includes warm tube amps and analytic dry amps, complete opposites, do you know which sound you like?
Can you recommend Jazz for some one that doesn't like Jazz?
I am not an expert but Ray Charles, Fats Domino, Count Basie, Blood Sweat and Tears, Tom Waits are easy and fun. But I always feel like: if I enjoy it and I understand it, it's probably not jazz. I also agree with the point that if you haven't got...

those are good questions @mswale I would also be curious if there is an active music scenes where you could advertise.  I would love a store that also does repairs and sells and buys albums and vintage gear.  Btw I could analyze the demographics...
phono preamp to power amp
thanks @rivington66 sounds like a sweet setup!
Please talk me out of buying the Avalon Eclipse
In defense of (not sure) The funniest bumper sticker I saw in Alabama: "At least we are NOT Mississippi!"

I have no doubt a small town/population could sustain your business, 100K people or so, in a 20 mile radius. It's mostly about what would sell. A few expensive brands and components are boring to most of the public, you would attract maybe a few 1...

"one more: find something that someone wants where the speakers are from where you are." a big suitcase of a sense of humor? (sorry sorry sorry)
