celestion 7000
famous for its drivers. I still listen to my Celestion 5s every day. Ridiculously great, musical, detailed sound.
Two powered subs with bookshelf speakers or two floor-standing speakers?
in theory, you have more flexibility with bookshelf speakers and subs. In reality, it's much harder to get it right. The easiest route is powered floorstanding speakers. But who wants it easy?
Not sure what to think or do...
@jetter not only that, they should have paid for the blown speaker

I would send the Wharfedales back while under trial period. They will not get better, it's like the combination of lack of synergy and your ears.
Klipsch La Scala replacement?
KLH?
Getting back into venal with a $2,000 budget.
I ended up with the Rega P3 but I also considered Pro-ject and NAD and used Marantz turntables. There are a lot of Rega P3s on usaudiomart under $800.
Revel Salon 2 speakers
even Revel couldn't write a better pitch :) However, I did find them one of the best speakers for the $ when I was speaker hunting.
I'm looking to add sub-woofers to my system...
why are subwoofers so expensive? I mean you can buy 2 good, budget speakers for $500 and maybe the same category subwoofer costs the same.

I have some experience, tried 3 subs, none worked really well. SVS, Klipsch and Polk, Klipsch was the worst. My budget was under $500. Maybe there is nothing in that price range that works with 2 monitors (by works I mean doesn't destroy the exist...

Rega Planar 3: Is the Exact a significant upgrade from the Elys 2?
I have had the P3 with the Elys 2 for a while now and I had a few upgrade ideas but not the cartridge. It’s definitely better than the Ortofon Blue I had with my previous TT

question: once a record is cleaned, how often/how soon does it need to be cleaned again?

wouldn't it be great if record stores owned one and cleaned the album when selling it, even for a fee? Or I could just bring in my old record, pay them and have it cleaned? I called the 5 record stores in town, none has a service like that
