Is soundstage DEPTH a myth? If only hundred then I’m afraid neither DSOTM or SD will make it.
Ultimate test of bass - Lana del Rey's A&W @glatzj Good one! Not just the bass.
For those that have heard Dutch & Dutch 8c.. Why not start with Roon and learn how to use its eq. Very good besides that Roon itself is great. I put a REW measurement into Roon and then manipulate it further manually based on my hearing and liking. Changes it every day to perfection one day ...
For those that have heard Dutch & Dutch 8c.. Well if you follow the discussions on this forum you will notice that lots of audiophiles seem very “afraid” of actives or the pro sound. They don’t really yet want to understand what’s the future…no one will buy big SS amps in ten years.
Is soundstage DEPTH a myth? Santana S/T been mentioned regarding depth in recording. I do believe also Santana Caravanserai needs to be recognized. An absolute masterpiece I thought fifty years ago and still do. Back then for the music and now also for the recording. Just li...
Is soundstage DEPTH a myth? @8th-note You are very welcome to give us some more (non-classical or electronic) examples of (maybe your) recordings with great depht. Where the depht really adds to the experience of the recording.
For those that have heard Dutch & Dutch 8c.. Sorry I'm not located in the States. If you're not "afraid" of active speakers you may also consider a used pair of Genelec 8351 with GLM. However they need sub-bass support when you use them as midfield speakers. Which D&D don't.

Ultimate test of bass - Lana del Rey's A&W Thanks for the tip. Serious bass in that track. Don’t miss her cd Lust for life. Fine songs and nice electronic and electric bass in most songs. And don’t miss Billie Eilish! Electronic bass goes very deep so you need a really good and well-balan...
Jazz like this? Suggestions Bernt Rosengren Quartet - I’m Flying
Home audio or pro audio? I'd go with the PMC surround system. Their new active monitors 6-2 and 8-2 very interesting. The problem with pro shops are they don't sell cable lifters.
Jazz like this? Suggestions Adding Roon to your Qobuz will give you a much better instrument for searching similar music. Plus very nice dsp possibilities. Bobo Stenson?
Passion, or ..... Precision? Some of You might enjoy the British all-star band Crippled Black Phoenix. Probably very fine on KEF Ref. 5 :)
Passion, or ..... Precision? Sorry but You blame the recordings much too much. If you can’t fix it hire a sound engineer. |
