Best overall Stravinski - Rites of Spring...
Andante released a three volume collection of Stravinsky performances as remastered CD's. The majority of these recordings are live with Stravinsky conducting. Volume III is most, if not all, Leonard Bernstein at the podium. Volume I is difficult ...
Where to buy a Sgt Pepper Album Cover?
Why not buy the album and then have the poster matted and framed?
Sundazed Records
My limited understanding about Sundazed is that they pretty much rely on straight transfers. Yes, they'll attempt to cut through the crud and grime in order to achieve better clarity but they are not out to compete with people like Steve Hoffman, ...
What's going on with Mobile Fidelity?
I'm going to have to recoil from my enthusiasm surrounding the possibility of a Dylan mono vinyl pressing from Mobile Fidelity. I didn't realize that those amazing JVC Mobile Fidelity vinyl remasters were strictly a thing of the past. A friend tol...
What's going on with Mobile Fidelity?
Mofimadness, I agree with what you've said. One can just compare how many mono cartridges are sold to that of stereo to understand the logistics behind the said marketing. I'll be looking forward to the Dylan mono pressings with great anticipation.
What's going on with Mobile Fidelity?
I just bought the MOFI SACD Hybrid of Dylan's 'Blood on the Tracks'. It sounds analogue to my ears but I'm only hearing the CD layer. It was worth the $25.00 with a trade in. I would purchase the MOFI vinyl as well but they refuse to release mono ...

Beethoven Symphonies - best perf + sonics on CD
Thanks Lloydelee for the recommendation. I got started on this when I was in Odessa, Ukraine and I went to a piano recital in the Philharmonie. The pianist was superb and he had studied abroad at the Juilliard School in the early 1960's. Of course...
Beethoven Symphonies - best perf + sonics on CD
Hi Loydelee,Maybe we could give this subject a bit more latitude; USSR recordings including Eastern Block countries like Hungary, etc... The point being that Vienna and Budapest are next door neighbors, so one might conclude that a handful of Beet...
Beethoven Symphonies - best perf + sonics on CD
I also posted on a Gramophone forum with respect to the Beethoven Cycles and was informed of the Mikhail Pletnev cycle with the Russian National Orchestra. Has anyone heard this set? What is your opinion of Russian or Eastern European academies wh...
MULTI-CH SACD'S on 2CH SOUND STRANGE?
I have an Ayre QB9 DAC and I use High Diamond 'Black Diamond' Interconnects. Anyway, if this Ayre Universal Disc player is of the same sonic quality as my DAC, then there is no reason to not buy the Ayre. However as stated previously but in not so...
Beethoven Symphonies - best perf + sonics on CD
Brownsfan, well thank you kind sir, you've just saved me $15.00 that can be put to use somewhere else. In fact I've had my eye on the Bob Dylan 'Blood on the Tracks' SACD from Mobile Fidelity. Brahms is a tough composer to weed through seeing that...
Beethoven Symphonies - best perf + sonics on CD
Well Brownsfan, after having read the David Hurwitz review, I am now skeptical about this Brahms Manze set. This was the first out and out criticism of the performances that I've read and while I try not to give reviews too much credit, I tend to ...
Top 10 Alt-country bands
Admittedly, I'm not really much of a country music fan however I'm a fan of the Massachusetts band Beat Circus and their record 'Boy from Black Mountain' won the 9th Annual Independent Music Award for Best Alt/Country album in 2009. If your not fa...
MULTI-CH SACD'S on 2CH SOUND STRANGE?
My error, I did mean 'hybrid' SACD and yes, my PentaTone SACD's in a simple 2 channel CD format sounds better to me than most standard Redbook CD's. The other comments of course were just related to me and they may or may not have any real validit...
