Tyler Accoustics....a true pleasure to deal with.. I am currently using the Woodmeres and this new Pro Speaker he is getting ready to launch. Yes Tom, they are both big and the sig. other is a bit tired of the hobby at the moment. I can't blame her though. Paul, it's been awhile but I really liked...
Tyler Accoustics....a true pleasure to deal with.. I have to be up to 15 pairs of speakers from TA since my first purchase 6 yrs ago. Excellent sound, cabinets, parts, crossovers, finish, and service keeps me buying more. Ty just makes this hobby fun again. We might just add him to our family photo.
Subwoofer has a Hum Cheater plug is the easiest fix...If you don't like the looks of those things try a Monster Power HTPS 7000. I am amazed at how well this unit cleans up the hum.
Tyler Acoustics: Taylo Ref III vs. Linbrook Sig's As far as the bass is concerned I did some comparisons with the Linbrook 2-8" bass modules and a custum Seas 1-10" rear ported passive subwoofers TA designed for me. I feel the 10" goes a tad deeper but it's close. The difference between 2 mids an...
millenium or revelation tweeter? The ring rev. is fast, dynamic, detailed, and airy. If you like the Revelator you will like this tweeter. I would say 15-20% improvement. It might not be worth the cost to some $450 ea as compared to $209. Again, all of the tweeters used by TA sou...
millenium or revelation tweeter? I have owned numerous speakers from TA. I prefer the Scan speak units. I feel they have more air and detail. That could be due to my taste in music. I even had TA use the upgraded Ring Rev. tweeter and that unit is expensive but amazing. I do agre...
Speaker toe-in & stereo imaging I usually start with no toe in and go from there. If your speakers are on the brighter side you will most likely use very little toe in.
Reimer Wind River did not sell... I'm sure they are a nice speaker. However, we all know now that they aren't going to get $3600 new. Maybe a little overexposure on audiogon's front page!
Subwoofer, Active Vs. Passive Well think about it. We try so hard to isolate our amps and preamps with cones and pucks. The worst place to put an amplifier is inside a sub enclosure. However, it sure is handy and it reduces the need for component space. The key to powered/pass...
Pass Aleph series with Apogee?? I would hold off on the Pass Aleph amps. I had the Aleph 3 and it didn't do real well with difficult loads. It was excellent with monitors.
How to deal with a drop ceiling that eats bass? It almost sounds like your room has increased in size since the bass has disappeared. Once you have real bass it is difficult to give up. If you really like the room you might want to try a bigger speaker with better bass. I personally like big sp...
Best Dark Sounding Amp For Bright Speakers? Conrad Johnson MF 2200 or a BAT 3i preamp.
Using subs as speaker stands ? You might want to think about the Ref II. It is basically the monitor with its own passive subwoofer section. This will give a better appearence. I am sure Ty could make you a bass module for the ref monitor (Lynbrook style). I am not a big fan of...
Speakers for the real world. Placement problems. Legacy might have what you are looking for.
Solid state amps under 1000 Used: Belles Hotrod, Pass Labs Aleph 3 could be a real good choice. Nothing wrong with the CJ 2200 not sure if I like the looks of the 2250. |
