Final? ARC Chapter... Typical internet comments from many who don’t understand business. And mid-fi? Really? More that don’t have a clue. ARC may not be everyone’s flavour but it certainly is not mid-fi…
Why do so many sellers take offense to offers on their listings? @dabel my comment was about the reference to people getting mad about an offer that could somewhat be alleviated by them learning how to communicate better with other humans rather that being on here complaining or listening to music all of their ...
Why do so many sellers take offense to offers on their listings? So many sellers prices are inflated, I sell high but my equipment is always in perfect, as new condition. I personally pay more for that when I buy. I’ve also “lowballed” because the selling price was too high, not near market price, I’ve also pur...
Buying from Parts Connexion They are an honest company, I have bought from them via mail order. Their owner used to own Sonic Frontiers so they have a long history in the industry. Sonic Frontiers was a Class A rated tube equipment manufacturer so they know tubes. You are sa...
What is wrong with my system? In my experience it’s your speakers and speaker placement.
Anyone else upset about new Audiogon policies? From a business perspective, when you see Canuck and US Audiomart’s listing volume grow (they definitely have more ads then they did 5 years ago) Audiogon is either happy with their model or continue increasing their fees to cover diminished reven...
is using a tube amp every day bad? Jweilers1 is not correct, old Fender amps are not like newer or modern tube amps. They are based on very old circuits that were licensed from companies like Western Electric etc. They were not Fender’s own circuit design. When you aren’t playing t...
is using a tube amp every day bad? Make sure you use your standby switch often when you aren’t playing, a vintage blackface should have this depending on the model. An old Fender will chew up your tubes faster sitting at idle in operating mode than being played. There are a couple ...
Tweeters are silent on my Wilson audio Sofia 2 Have you put an ohms meter on your tweeters to see if they are functioning properly? My Maxx 3’s had a similar issue, I bought the ridiculously expensive resistors from Wilson and it was the tweeters, the resistors didn’t protect them. Don't get m...
Why is there no love for Prima Luna? This is only my experience and I’m not trashing the brand but my amps had difficulty albeit these were early versions. Not sure if they’ve changed over the years. My local tech is as good as they come and he said the transformers were very poor qu...
System problem Thank you everyone. uberwaltz you are right, I pulled the grilles off tonight, unplugged all of the electronics and it is the tweeters that are out. I have spare resistors in the accessory boxes that cam with the speakers so will change them out t...
System problem I will play the TT tomorrow night to see if that's the problem or not, as for the EAR, I plugged the DAC directly into the amps bypassing the preamp and the problem was still there. Will update tomorrow
System problem That's my thought right now, or the Directstream. When I plugged the Directstream directly into the amps, I used the monoblock interconnects, not the DAC ones and the same problem persisted. Will continue to troubleshoot!!!
System problem I’ll try my i/c’s and speaker cables too, I have another full set
System problem Thank you everyone, even oldhvymec, kidding!!! I’ll turn on and off tomorrow and will call Wilson to see if it’s their fuses. Sure those will be inexpensive! It’s strange because everything still plays it’s just low in volume even when turned up a... |
