geoffkait,"If ESP worked for vibration everybody and his brother would use in in high end players."Check them out, you may be surprised what they have inside.

bretmcee,There is no doubt that room has a lot to do with final performance. I suspect that the world's most expensive speakers may not sound as the world's best speakers once placed in the mountain cave, but overall the price does follow "quality...

erik_squires,It is just me who noticed improvement (at least what seemed to be an improvement to me) with increase of the price of some component. I give it benefit of the doubt that it may not be always so, but examples are hard to find. It is al...

World War II had almost nothing to do with accurate (whatever that means) reproduction of sound. I would bet on that.

geoffkait,"The exact same thing just about happens for CD players - the incessant hunt and peck action of the laser servo system trying to keep the nanoscale laser beam on track produces audible distortion."Turn the ESP on and your Discman will ne...

"But if I did make some babies, still might, my wife and I would raise..."Oh my, if you really do not have children yet, and will have them some day, brace for impact. You may be in for a dose of frustration, surprise, maybe even disappointment, a...

vinny55,"...@n80 you should be selling used cheap scrapyard 70s cars instead of commenting on audio forums."Why did you pick "cheap"? Reading n80's comments, one would expect you to pick "expensive exotic" rather than "cheap scrapyard".
Rumors of iTunes Demise
"...I wonder if that product would have any appeal for the masses?"It will, just like reel-to-reel players on the other thread. You, a friend of mine, and I will buy it.

topoxforddoc,Thanks to Google, I found this website you are certainly familiar with.Clicking on pictures makes it even more confusing. All the available tapes are from very short period. Roughly 1987-1993. Nothing that I could find from decades be...

topoxforddoc,I think I understand now where it came from and what copy it was. It was as close of a copy as a local distributing company could get to the original and it served as that to make actual records. That would make it, for all practical ...
