What's your favorite lyric from a song? For lyrics, mine is bruce springsteen's "the river". There are clever lines throughout the song but this section is my favorite: "Now all them things that seemed so important, Well mister they vanished right into the air.Now I just act like I dont...
Have any of you heard the Klipsch Forte speakers? I've got a pair of forte II's which i've enjoyed. i used them for rock, blues, and jazz in my studio. room is 12x15, so not quite big enough for them to "breath" to get the perfect blend of bass, midrange, and treble. These speakers really shine w...

To biwire or not to biwire, that is the question?? agree with trial and error. i added some jm reynaud cantabile speakers to my system and found some big differences in sound with how i wired them. this was the first bi-wire speakers i've had, and had no idea on the best way to set these up. first...

Best 5.1 surround recordings? if you like jazz, the concord samplers (there are 2 volumes) are both excellent multi-channel recordings. The soundstage on these is HUGE. The musicians are in the room. Check these out, they are a real bargain on the web for about $10 each.
What to use if I just want one cleaning fluid? i have continued to buy the same vpi cleaning fluid that came with the 16.5 and have found it to work very well. The records always sound clear with minimal or no noise depending on lp condition, with no residue. i just don't have the time or pati...
Best SACD hookup- multi channel or CD? The 3 cables for front/center/surround are going into the multichannel inputs on my yamaha rxv2500 receiver. with this I'm not getting any treble/bass control or use of the sound fields/subwoofer, etc. Although the signal is more pure, there are c...
Future of CD's - Hard drive based music don't get me wrong, I love my ipod as the most convenient music-on-the-go source. I doubt i'll ever get rid of or stop buying cds though for several reasons: listening to them in the car, sound quality, and i like browsing for them at the store an...
UPS doesn't just damage and lose Hi-end gear funny story- I'm in my mailroom at work sending back the guts of my klipsch sub to get repaired via UPS, and I ask the clerk for a marker to write "fragile" on the outside of the box. He says that I absolutely should not write fragile on the box. ...
why can't I make a digital recording of a DVD? Ok, new problem. I got the DVD's that were recorded in dolby digital 5.1 to record to CD by changing the player setting to PCM. I've got a few concert DVD's that were recorded in PCM, not dolby digital, and now they won't record. Any ideas? thanks!
Outdoor speaker recommendations while I don't normally like BOSE speakers, I got a pair of BOSE 251 outdoor speakers as a gift, and LOVE them. Great sound, and I've had them mounted now for 2 years and they sound as good as new. They run about $350 new for a pair. |
