Best balanced linestage/preamp for $4000 or less ???
Freya has issues. I’d stay away. The only thing it has going for it is price. I bought one with a Vidar and it was plagued with microphonics and I, like many, had to place heavy items on the case to stop it from ringing.gochurchgo - Is it possible...
Tidal does not post the cost to buy a song or an album on their site
Isn’t that what HD Tracks is about?...so-called "hi resolution" downloads for purchase?? I’m a bit of a skeptic about the whole hi rez download thing myself (especially without verification of provenance of the source material) but others seem to ...

Haha...the TEAC (Distinction series) I don't use (much) could be considered a poor cousin to your Esoteric.   Likewise, to your Pioneer, I have a Denon 2910 I recently re-discovered.  Nice, pre-blueray, universal  player.

Thanks to teo_audio for mentioning it.  Listening to Hinterland this evening.  For me, it might be the best of the 4 Strange Cargo albums William Orbit has put out.  Check out, "The Name of the Wave" (crank it up)...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

@oem-wheels Yes...have had one since Jan 2017. Before the Freya, I had an Opera Reference 50 pre (2-6H30 w/an EZ80 rectifier) that I actually preferred to a CJ I auditioned (can’t remember model but line stage with a pair of 6922s). In turn, the s...

Don’t know about "best" but pretty darn good. Consider auditioning a Schiit Freya. $700 bucks new with a 5 year warranty. 15 days to make up your mind. Run signal to it 24/7 for 10 days. You’ll have 5 for critical listening. If you keep it, replac...

If I recall correctly (without digging out the record) Jimmy Page produced the Gypsy Blood album.  Didn't know Mason toured with JP.
Sunday Morning Suggestions?
Ha...funny, @slaw I listed that on The Minority Report for Sunday evening May 6. Works in the morning or evening. What a gift for melody GH had; some gorgeous ones in that collection. Strictly instrumental...check out Lars Danielsson’s Liberetto r...

Hi @slaw Yup...agree with you about Nine Lives.  Have that (though nothing of his more commercially successful releases like Arc of the Diver or Talking Back to the Night).  Steve Winwood gets a lot of respect from me...a darn good guitarist, not ...
