Cheapest system you could ever stand to listen to
Knownothing - I think you started a great thread. I didn't intend to imply any criticism of it. Finding under valued/over achieving bargain components is a wonderful thing. Worth trading stories about. My post was intended as "hyperbole" - to put ...
Recommend some SACD's?
I only own 2 at this point, Peter Gabriel's "Up" and Diana Krall's "The Girl in the Other Room". "Up" is pretty amazing, sonically.

A transistor radio under the pillow back in the '60s. The Beatles and the British invasion were happening. It was all about the music. F the equipment. It's about the music.
Help. My system is shouting at me

Help pick next speakers: Have Paradigm, Totem
How close to the speakers is your listening position? I think this might influence how well the Forests work for you. Not to mention power rating of the 2 channel you ultimately get. I own them but have them in a 15' x 13' alcove that opens on one...
Shelby Lynne
Raks - thanks for the tip on "Lost Highways". I'll check it out.
What matters most for an enjoyable home listen?
From the Neil Young biography, "Shakey" a phrase from David Briggs, "...the spook.". As in, ",,,it got to have the spook....". Relative to Mapman's original #1 and artistry, for me, artistry must include something transcendent. Highly subjective, ...
