@reubent Very nice.  Signed copy.  My spouse is exceedingly DISinterested in my music listening (though I do bore her from time to time with some new discovery).I seem to remember hearing the band name, CtS, on FM radio (probably WNEW out of NYC) ...

Hey Nutty - Glad you picked up on the keyboards. I was going to mention them but did not. It’s Lou Martin, formerly of Killing Floor.I enjoy his playing a lot. He can burn up that electric piano. There’re a few clips of him in a great Rory Gallagh...
Getting good sound from MacBook via DAC.
@sbank Hi Spencer -Thanks for the input.I might not be understanding all that the microRendu does but what I like about the Aries Mini is that it can stream Tidal, Spotify & internet radio wirelessly. In addition, I can use it to play ripped C...

O - I know what you mean about the tangible thing.  With the download files, you can of course burn them to a CD if you want.  I'm holding out for a physical CD myself so will let you know when the Sonic Pieces on-line shop re-opens.  @jafant - ch...
Getting good sound from MacBook via DAC.
Ran a MacBook Air via USB out to a Gungnir DAC for a good long while. Listened to ripped CDs from external hard drive and also to Spotify from the MBA. I was very happy with the sound. Sounded better than direct from the CDP. But then, maybe I’m n...
Dust Off compressed air to get dust off of vinyl records
+ 1 for what rotarius wrote. I’ve occasionally tried to use Dust Off but sometimes something (condensation?) puts some liquid on the record. Doesn’t seem like a good idea. A brush definitely works if dampened but must take care not to over wet it ...

Very pleased to hear your take on it as a musical journey, O.After I posted the link was thinking exactly that and how it related to your earlier post. The whole LP does indeed make for a nice musical journey. Master Nishimoto is a superb tour gui...

Why are low impedance speakers harder to drive than high impedance speakers
I ain’t Al but one of the few things I sort of understand about electronics is Ohm’s law. From WikipediaOhm’s law states that the current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the voltage across the two points. Introdu...
