What does moving from a 150 watt amp to a 400 watt amp get you? , but if I am not looking for “louder” what do I get with a more powerful amp? I don’t hear clipping. More current? But what does that do? Sorry for my ignorance!miles_trane Don’t fall into the BS that more watts is more powerfull. These 25w ML 2 ...
I'm not dreaming - these are great CD copies In fact, most of my DVD’s and Blu-Rays are also going the way of the CD’s -- to a HD and into storage. If you look after them, how many CD’s or DVD’s have failed you, then compare how many Hard Drives have bit the dust. Big difference to me, I’ve...
I'm not dreaming - these are great CD copies PS: the cd retail stamped vs copy burn pics above comes from Jean-Marc Fontaine just one of digital’s foremost authorities. Here is just a video conference of his which discusses the drive mechs and storage of digital https://vimeo.com/16104280Chee...
I'm not dreaming - these are great CD copies In your face and musical are just words. They certainly don’t mean the same thing to everyone. I like things to be in your face if that’s how they’re supposed to sound. I don’t like laid back sound if it’s supposed to be more present and dynamic....
Norah Jones - Tidal vs. Hi Res ? There are 1 or 2 Norah Jones cd’s that had anti copyright info embedded in them, you couldn’t copy and burn them, I wonder if this is one of them and it screws with the purity of it.https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51XJBRFRCDL._SY3...
I'm not dreaming - these are great CD copies And yet the sound is better on the copy. Sez you and the OP, I have never ever found this, always the original has sounded less in your face and more musical.Cheers George
I'm not dreaming - these are great CD copies What I originally said to which your twisting, is the burnt pit/land is harder to read and will cause more error correction to happen than the original retail stamped or moulded one. As this photo shows, the difference is clear, that the original ...
I'm not dreaming - these are great CD copies Do your homework Geoff, if a pits/land can’t be read because of a cd burn or scratch or defect, it’s substituted by the same last readable one, it’s a 50/50 chance of being right, that is simply what error correction is.Cheers George
Norah Jones - Tidal vs. Hi Res ? potato potaoe, mqa has never made me tip my hat to it in all the times I've heard it.Cheer George
I'm not dreaming - these are great CD copies reduced jitter by burning a CD-r copy. This mainly depends on what the jitter spec is of the dac and it's interface to the transport/streamer that doing the last d to a conversion, not so much if a original or burnt copy is used. Cheers George
We Need A Separate Forum for Fuses Anything to discredit "snake oil'ers" just to give the gullible audiophiles out there something to think about, and to read others opinions, before they part with more than $100 for a fuse which the sound of is no better than a quality $2 fuse.Che...
Wadia 830 laser impossible to source? Either a CMK-54Xt or a PEA-1343. You my find that one is the whole mech and the other is just the laser, that's how it works with other brands eg Sanyo.Cheers George
We Need A Separate Forum for Fuses Well, I tried new in place of old (15+ year old) stock fuses and I couldn't tell the difference. Well you've passed the fuse'rs test code, or maybe you didn't try it in the other way round.Cheers George
Norah Jones - Tidal vs. Hi Res ? There are two "Not Too Late" both added to Tidal both with release dates of 1/1/03They’re full of it like other MQA properganda, as it wasn’t released till 2007 recorded Recorded Summer 2005–Fall 2006 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Not_Too_Late_(a...
I'm not dreaming - these are great CD copies Multiple generations of read/writing increases the error count of the original by quite a margin. Once a zero or one (from the previous readable pit) has been substituted for the original unreadable pit, there is no way it can be resurrected to be... |
