Who is ditching their shiny disc spinners? I was referring instead to the overall topic of the thread, which seems to boil down to an endless (and apparently irresolvable) dispute re: stream-ing vs. CDs. "Who is ditching their shiny disc spinners?" "obviously for another digital source" ...
Quantum Science Audio Thread Guess your ears can’t hear what mine do. 5 post and with attitude?? Ya gotta earn that privilege here sunshine I'm a little late to this party, but I can attest that adding 2 SR Orange fuses (1 to my preamp, and 1 to my amp) literally left ...
popping noise from my speakers If it's in both channels, chances are it's in the digital domain of the source, or if you amp is stereo and a common smp power supply for both channels it could be that also. Cheers George
Lightspeed Attenuator - Best Preamp Ever? There are some instances where additional gain is needed Yes that needs to be added to No.2 " 2: All passives (except tvc’s), if the system permits impedance/gain compatibility (most do) Like our old friend pubul57 (Paul, RIP) who started this t...
Quantum Science Audio Thread Please don’t argue with, or try to convince, George on this thread. I always thought SR and new guys like this Quantum were using some kind of voltage conditioning process on the fuses, and the fuse price/level was just the amount of time th...
Quantum Science Audio Thread Hey! he did go overboard with MQA too, and then backed out when it was proved a hoax. It’s all about the $$$$.And you’re the one who bought me back into this fuse BS
Quantum Science Audio Thread @georgehifi, doing research on fuses about 3 years ago I stumbled upon this 2017 you tube video by Paul McGowan the chief electrical engineer of PS Audio about ’Audiophile fuses’. He didn’t believe that something as small as a fuse could effect so...

Who is ditching their shiny disc spinners? Arguing is not likely to change many minds. Frankly, the value of such threads eludes me. The value is, to give the provenance of what they stream/download to you, so you can say yes I'll pay (to uncompressed) or no won't pay (to compressed) i...
Lightspeed Attenuator - Best Preamp Ever? The sources volume should be controlled up and down that’s all. (nothing added or subtracted)The well known saying, "the best preamp should sound like a piece of wire" not adding or subtracting anything from the sound of the source, and if you do...
New Klipsch Forte IV Can’t leave the comments with just the subject at hand, instead of getting personal.Only one thing left for yet another 2nd personal slur. https://youtu.be/MMzd40i8TfA
Who is ditching their shiny disc spinners? p05129 Its been proven over a dozen years ago that reading music from a HD sounds better than from a CD player. I got rid of all my cd/sacd players almost 15 years ago. Yes no ones arguing that, but if what you put on the HD comes from streamin...
New Klipsch Forte IV speakers of today are far and away removed from what you heard,Sorry, to me still use horns and still shout.Even ones used with Plasma tweeter like the Lanche Audio Corona Plasma Tweeter Cheers George
amplifier with volume control The best TVC sounds threadbare. The Music First Reference tranny uses about a mile of copper wire! And that’s the problem with TVC’s the mile of thin wire, they ring are coloured to the max, nowhere near transparent, even less transparent than ac...
New Klipsch Forte IV Ooops sorry Forte 2 And what, I’m not allowed to have both⁉Also have Elac floor standers with ribbon tweeters, a pair of Yamaha Soavo. But nothing touches the Monolith 3 esl’s with Neolith panels/ MP-02 plasma tweeters and ACI SV12 bass from <1... |
