What Class D amps will drive a 2 ohm load
Didn’t think there was ANY SPEAKER harder to drive than the 9’s.... WOW!I know the Scintillas were close but DANG! You can add the OP’s Thiel CS5 also CS7, Wilson Alexia to that list also and there are many others. And to me also the "good" ridi...
new GAN amplifier
It’s good for it to have it’s own thread, new amp using the new GaN technology. So long as the claims are kept real, and BS is not posted. Wasn’t it this one or another (Nuprime) that claimed to have "super fast 500,000hz!!! switching frequency" w...
Jeff Rowland Model 1
Kudos bigkidz, my experience also, you need dynamics for reality, you need frequency extension for the full picture, this is where BJT’s shine. This is not just me, but there are many quotes on line from lecturers on the subject. here is just one" ...
Looking At CD Players
I own both an Oppo 205 (stock) and a Cambridge 851C and the Cambridge is hands down better to my ears. Because it uses a hybrid multibit/delta sigma, and for CD this is going to sound better than all delta sigma. Even better again for CD is all R...
Watt Puppy 7 needs new or used Amp and Pre-amp
rocray Hopefully the OP found what he was looking for in the last 11 years. Yep your right, I should have looked a bit deeper, just tweak bumping up old threads spruiking for EVS yet againCheers George
Spikes for very heavy speakers
Since I will be placing them in my basement which has concrete slab ....should I first get a small piece of thick solid wood...say 1inch think and place them on such a wooden platform or do you think it is OK to have the spikes direct on the co...
Class A 30 Watt Amps: Are they enough to drive my book shelfs?
I have the 30.8 and I would be shocked if the 30.5 couldn’t completely drive the heck out of those KEF’s. Yes but the amp will be pushed close to it’s limit to "drive the heck out of them", and no amp I know sounds it’s best when near it’s limit....
Watt Puppy 7 needs new or used Amp and Pre-amp
datsawman Watt Puppy 7 needs new or used Amp and Pre-amp You’ve got the best sounding of all the Watt/Puppy version there in the 7’s. My friend who has been through them all, even the 8’s came back to the 7’s.Although they are 90db efficient and...
Synergistic Research Orange Fuses
You have no experience, therefore no knowledge. You have no knowledge therefore no experience, you self admitted you couldn’t measure the phase shift @ 20khz on your new 1200as2 Class-D amp venture, https://ibb.co/k1NcSDj , strange because all it...
Synergistic Research Orange Fuses
I don’t see the point of this thread; you can try it for yourself risk-free.’That’s right that’s his answer, the OP can also then ask admin to close this down before it goes toxic, which it will inevitably do just like all the others.
Synergistic Research Orange Fuses
Would be good if it were that simple. But these clowns that for each different SR fuse they try saying thing like this is massive my system has taken a giant leap, it 100% better than before. And this goes on for half a dozen different fuses, and s...
Synergistic Research Orange Fuses
Is this one seriously imaginary world, or what?? Yeah and you can’t see the forest for the trees. Notice how there’s not one Electronic Engineer game enough on these BS voodoo fuser sights and lay their reputation on the line and back you "specia...
Synergistic Research Orange Fuses
Save your money goofy. If it sounds better you probably had/have "fuse rot" as @wolf_garcia calls it.  The only way a fuse can sound better, if it replaces old crusty one that seen too many switch on surges over time, doesn’t have to be $200 fuse...
Looking to improve CD playback
mesch OP I am motivated by the thinking that use of a NOS R2R DAC with CD playback might prove best You are correct in thinking this, try to listen to an R2R Holo Spring Level2 or 3 dac, you can switch on the fly between it’s NOS and OS modes. (...
Class A 30 Watt Amps: Are they enough to drive my book shelfs?
"Just" enough if you don’t want to party, the 60.5 would be ideal but they are monoblocks and much more expensive. If the Kefs were a 4ohm load and less then the 30.5 would be giving out around 60w  But if you have a look at the impedance graph th...
