new GAN amplifier
I am going to guess I have far more experience with AP equipment and getting the most out of it than the average Stereophile writer who is a casual user. Yes your the best, and yes your a"Dreamer".JA (John Atkinson) would have so many more hours ...

As you can see years back Stereophile used to show with (top) and without the AP low pass filter, and it’s always used at very low power. Today they never show the square wave "without" the filter in line (bottom), which is not representative what...

I’m talking about the Audio Precision’s auxiliary AUX-Filter which goes between the Class-D and the AP Analyser, it’s a 52db per octave passive low-pass filter and can only take low power, it eliminates the Class-D’s switching noise for testing pu...
Time to buy a class D amp?
What is it with Class-D owners, my last loved amp lasted more than 8 years, sources usually 4-5 years. But Class-D owners seem to be in a hurry to get somewhere by changing their Class-D's like like they are a pair of socks or jocks.Cheers George

purify look good but keep in mind those IMD measurements conducted at relatively low power and with a LPF in line. Not just low power Arty, but "very low" power, as the testing equipment used, the Audio Precision in line external Class-D switchi...
Mark Levinson integrated powerhouse with all the bling
All good info on paper. Question is: have YOU listened to any of the two? Na neither, but I've always liked what ML does, I've yet to hear for myself or read anything bad from ML, except for one that was a bit of a flop, and that was their bal...
Mark Levinson integrated powerhouse with all the bling
Mark Levinson Integrated....hmmmm... 585 look no further Also nice if a used one is wanted, but was double the new price, (if adjusted for 5 years time), and it also only got 20w out of it more when tested before it shut down into 2ohm, so for the...
Integrated amp for Thiel 3.7's
pgastone OP Like I said above, the amp for these needs current delivery down to 2ohms, I just posted up an integrated that would do, but it's too new for there to be any used ones. But it does have a dac and phono stge in it.  https://forum.a...
I have to downsize big time, any ideas on integrated amps and smaller 3 way speakers
shamus2211 OP   Hi everyone, thanks once again. I am still working through the list. A dealer I know from another city to mine has offered a 45% discount off a Bryston B153 Integrated If you add all the extras to that your close to this beauty...
Subwoofer rumble issue
Subsonic rumble filter! All better! I understand it’s a “bandaid” approach but it totally worked and my stereo sounds amazing again! YES!!! Thanks again everyone! Yes until you figure out how to stop the airborn feedback, it is a band aid, as it’...

in the case of the Alexia where one just has to look at the frequency response/impedance curve to see it, often correct peaks (valleys) in the frequency response. It is like a built in equalizer :-)You are both "Dreamer’s", the OTL’s are NOT fixin...

What Class D amps will drive a 2 ohm load
The amp500 features a staggering 500 watts per channel into 8 ohms Why stop there at 500w, get a 3000!!!! watt one for $429 https://www.storedj.com.au/behringer-nx3000-ultra-lightweight-3000w-class-d-power-amplifier It features a custom designed...

Are you 100% certain that low damping factor is always best? Yes of course it is, unless I can think back to the 80’s when there was a speaker with purposely an over damped design, as Linn/Naim (Ivor Tifenbrun & Julian Veriker) in cahoots bac...
new GAN amplifier
There’s a Supertramp track, that fit’s this claim of "doing a nice job" of that amp driving the Wilson Alexia’s, it’s called "DREAMER" With serious lack of damping factor, and far less current than an 80’s NAD 3020 integrated can give. This thing ...
